He could have been our featured back next year. The man is a stud and reminds me of Shonn Greene. How healthy and effective could he possibly be if he's required to where that ginormous brace. I'm not sure who made the decision to put him out there rather than bringing him back as the featured RB next year, but it seems like a 100% stupid decision.

I really haven’t been that impressed personally.

At this point I think Toren can carry the rock until help comes

If what Stallman said is true....it makes 100% sense.
If butler wants to play then it also makes 100% sense!

We need him more now than next year Wadley is done ... to many carries and to many hits he's got no burst nothing like he had earlier this year.. Ferentz shot his wad for a few preseason wins and wasted him.

I have to totally agree with the OP.. however maybe it was Butlers choice he wanted to play and not have to come back next season?

Not a bit of shonn in butler. He's a decent power runner but definitely not a game changer. I think kelly ivory martin is that guy

He's better than Wadley when running between tackle with no blocking. That said, I don't see Butler as being that much better than the underclassmen options.

Wadley isn't burned out. He's a back that needs a definite hole to run through and we don't have the line right now to give it to him. If he can get to the second level he'd still look like the old Wadley.

I think the answer to your question is, that HE decided to play the last five games. Its up to the player.

Not sure Butler received enough of a sample size early in the season to formulate the opinion some are expressing.

The guy didn't put up the stats at Nevada by accident.

I would have liked to see him get more carries in the early games.

OL doesn't open up holes, no back is going to look impressive.

Was he really a lock for a medical redshirt? Haven't had the best of luck with the NCAA granting those to Hawkeye players.

I believe Young and Kelly-Martin will make us forget all about Butler. Butler is a good change up to Wadley. Wadley is off his 'game' right now IMO, not sure quite what it is.
