DMRag's cyhawk game coverage is.....

pathetic!! It's been obvious that the rag is pro isu, but 2day's sports coverage reaches a new level of bias. The only text and photos of the actual game is the bottom appox'ly 1 6th of the total page space. The banner ads took up about the same amt of front page space. Rather, ads get the top billing, not a game related headline above the fold. Oh, least i not be fair, there was a FULL page of tailgate pics on 9c, wow, that balances the non existent game coverage.

There was; however 5 pages of friday high school football. My question is, shouldn't all those 5 pages been in Saturday's paper?

Enough, I'll get the news coverage else in the future as i cancelled the rag this AM.

The Sunday Register in eastern Iowa rarely has any Saturday night coverage/scores. They probably went out of their way to get a tiny bit of a 4pm game in the paper.

And the Friday night high school stuff probably didn't make the Saturday paper.

The Big Peach and Ron Maly are ancient history. Iowa athletics was covered extensively. Even Kaul's "Over The Coffee" column was a must read.

As a kid, I believe the DMRag used to have an editorial cartoonist (Frank Miller - Big Peach days) who believed the World Series was not "official" unless the New York Yankees were in it.

Nowadays, The DMRag believes the Intrastate rivalry game is not official unless the Cyclowns win.

I miss Al Grady from the Iowa Press Citizen. His pregame columns were the best going over the history of the Saturday matchup, and was a fan of the Hawkeyes win or lose

Gannett bought it and did what they do best. Turned it to shit so people will buy their "Baby" USA Today. at one time it was 1 of 33 papers that Jimmy Carter perused each morning. And yes, the sunday peach section was the bomb. Even had sports letters to the editor. Alas, those days are long gone and all I have is this stupid phone.

They announced before the HS football season that they would be covering HS on Sunday--something about ==oh hxxx, cant remember the exact words, but I'll find it again. I do know they have t had lots of different, not just sports, late news not covered the next day/
