Please give 1 example of something on Flo that may have cost us a recruit.

Yes not winning titles and not having multiple champions years in a row all are factors. Im not saying all of the articles are negitive towards the hawks but case in point look at the Suriano vs Lee article its all about Nick and how good he is and why he can beat Lee at midlands completely one sided.

Dont get me wrong I support flow. I thought the Stuff they printed when Gilman was making his run during and after worlds was great but show me anywhere somethings that leans negatively towards f**st.

It was an article on how Suriano could beat Lee. That gives credibility to Lee ... that they wrote an article on what the #2 guy needs to do to beat a true freshman. So, I don't think that's a slap. That said, it was all about Suriano and I expected a follow up on what Lee would need to do to beat Suriano.
They way they slant things influences kids. Do I think we have lost any recruits because of them, no. A pro Iowa guy on staff would help and drive them nuts. Hmm. Calling vodka

But what exactly do they slant? We are not near an Ohio St. or PSU or even close at the moment so rightfully so they aren't going to brag us up. Kyle Bratke (who contributes articles and on FRL regularly) is admittedly big fan of Iowa. Who from there dislikes Iowa? What have they slanted and what have they said?
And if it hasn't cost us any recruits then what does it matter?
83% of their articles have cost us 83 recruits the past 8.3 years!!!
Agree with this as a whole. Bratke is an Iowa fan, but also calls it as he sees it. I think the same for all the FLO guys, actually. The work they do to showcase Iowa (Hawkeye) Wrestling is unparalleled. Much better than that of IA Wrestle when it comes to showcasing (FLO Docs etc.).
Take the Gilman Fight Night Spectacular for instance. Willie and Co. were all about it, while the rest of the wrestling/media seemed to either vilify or stay neutral on it. Whatever your thoughts on that particular incident, give me the voice that makes a choice and stand by it good or bad.
The fact of the matter is, nobody was ever bitching about Iowa's persona when we were winning 23 titles. We fuc@*$& celebrated it. In fact, Im looking for the next Brands/Ramos/Gilman. For those that haven't had the chance to talk to SL, he might be the next... As of right now, The Bull ain't backing down and he'll let you know!
For everyone else that doesn't like FLO or any other supportive wrestling outlet, make your own... you can be as subjective as you want, and I for one would love an ALL HAWKS podcast. After all, it all started from message boards. Right, Pin2Win and Husker_Du? Btw, Husker_Du you still owe $25 for the Cauliflower Classic.
So , my comment is more bold then intended. Since we are on the subject, I will give a couple examples of some instances that maybe nothing or could be something. Just know that it doesn’t bother me so much I was just giving a possible answer to the above. They tend to rank us lower than most, to point many people here get upset and others find funny. One instance I remember decently was the meet vs Okie St. where Pyles was actively rooting against Iowa while calling then match. They would not even talk about the ref in the Okie St match last year and the bad calls, but bring up how Stoll Carvred his guy this year. Hey it’s their show, we are just not favorites for them and that is that end of story. Not much to see here. With all that said and despite them not liking Iowa, I think they know it is important to throw us bones because of the fan base and they try to do that even though it is painful for them. So it seems. So yeah, not a big deal. It’s whatever

a twitter personality DM'd me asking to be in the pool. I know of no one in that league, but i thought, this guy seems cool. so i agreed. never met any of them and no one ever asked for it. i don't even know who or how i would pay tbh. but i promise i'm not hurting so badly that i'm trying to dodge $25 bucks or whatever it was.
i did, however, donate $100 to WFL and Hawkeye WC for Polar Plunge last year.

I believe Backcountry was referring to a different pool from back in the day which has evolved in to the "Cauliflower Classic" via Fantasy Grade. I'm not worried about it, as only the cash collected got paid out, so the one truly out of the cash was the winner. .....but yes "Husker_Du" did not pay their $25 entry fee even after several emails & "excuses".
