Never been a watch guy. I tend to see more Smart Watches than anything. People looking at their wrist for any notification associated with their phone. Maybe has sleep, fitness features that come along?

The Dress Watch is probably more of a dying breed I assume? Those are more of a fashion statement than anything. We went into a Rolex shop in Scottsdale a few years back. One of the watches was like $75k. Dumb.

Maybe Captain Koons knew how much your dad valued a stop watch?

The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any slopes gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

For years and years, I wore an Omega watch most days, but now I’ve switched mostly to a smart watch. When we dress up/go out, I’ll switch back to the Omega. I do like having a watch on my arm.

Tag H aquaracer most days.
Good for work and casual.
Have 2-3 nicer and more expensive watches that i don’t wear at all.

Have a Fitbit watch. Pretty much just use it to see what time it is but it is also nice to see texts/calls that come through. Allows me to see if it is worth my time to take the phone out and respond or if it’s just some crap I can ignore.
Never realize how much I look at it until I forget to put it on someday or the battery is dead.

Apple Watch. Only reason is because I bike a lot and enjoy the information it collects. It also syncs up with the power meter in my bike to measure actual force applied to the pedals, between that and the heart rate it’s likely about as accurate as you can get in tracking calories and effort.

I used to wear a watch whenever I left my home. Now I just don't do it. I can tell time and do a million other things on my smart phone.

It's taken away the need for a watch IMO.

I have a G-Shock, a couple Timex weekenders, a Timex Marlin reissue, a Hamilton Khaki Field, and a Hamilton Intra-Matic.

Three watches left to buy and then I am done.

Omega Moonwatch
Omega Seamaster 300 blue dial

Never been a watch guy but bought an Apple Watch 10 in November. Mostly for fitness purposes. Keeping tracking of heart rate, calories burned, etc. I wear it all the time, and really like it. I’ve got most of my phone notifications turned off for it though other than calls and texts.

Everyday, the tan line is probably permanent. Not dress watches. Switch between divers. Mostly Oris, sometimes a Ball. I still 'follow' some watch news but can't justify creating/adding to a 'collection'.

I have a dress watch that was an anniversary award from work. My every day watch is a 40 something year old Seiko that my dad wore. The face is scratched up pretty bad, but it still tells time and it reminds me of him and that he got up everyday to go to work to provide for us.

smartwatch usually. i bought for fitness / health apps but honestly i'm not getting much out of the watch other than snoozing alarms when the phone is out of reach but i spent the money so i wear it. also i hate having to routinely charge another device. when travelling i wear a regular digital solar watch. imo old tech remains far superior to smart watches.

I rotate between three. A casio and a couple Fossils. I like the look and don't like pulling my phone out just to see the time. I'll never wear a "smart" watch if I can help it. I have a special occasion Original Grain watch that's a notch up. I wouldn't go higher as that kind of money is just silly.

I'd wear a pocket watch if I wore a vest. Maybe I should take that up... but winding them sounds like a hassle.

3 dress watches that are pretty nice, a GPS golf watch I only wear on the course and it depends on the course. I barely wear the dress watches anymore, wouldn't tell you the last time I did actually.

Have a few gshocks that I wear as beaters. For casual/business I have a mix of Seiko, Citizen, Hamilton. Tissot as a dress watch, which gets worn maybe once a year. So mostly mid tier, but highly regarded by watch geeks.

Haven't jumped into the deep end yet, but have a few on my lottery win list the Omega Speedy and AT (white dial), Grand Seiko GMT, Zinn 556i rs, Junghans Bauhaus, Breitling Top Time Deus, JLC Reverso.

I used to 20 years ago but I would check it every 2 minutes and people would get offended asking if I was bored and wanted to leave so I stopped wearing a watch.

CSB.

Never wore a watch until my wife got me a samsung for Christmas a few years back. I really like it. I can answer calls and texts on it. Tracks my sleep and I use it on the golf course for yardage. I swore I would never be a watch guy but I won't leave home without now. Takes only an hour to charge and lasts 2 days.

Chester Gould would be proud.

I wear a garmin (epix gen 2) in the evenings and during the weekends. For work, I have to go with one of my analog options.

Inexpensive Timex from 30ish years ago. Simple, comfortable, keeps perfect time and I can change the battery myself.

Only wear it for work, mainly as a back-up for my LaCrosse atomic clock as well as if I'm in a different bus or away from mine (when kids are on board, I can't use my cell phone).

Knowing exactly what time it is at all times is pretty important in my job. I don't need anything fancy...just keep perfect time and I'm good.

I used to, but stopped many years ago. My phone is in my hand 85% of my day and within reach the other 15%. So I see zero need.

Wore an inexpensive Timex while in the work force, now just wear one on vacation. But I do keep it under a pillow so I can see what time it is when I wake up at night. I have a clock radio but also bad eyesight:)
