Does Cade think he’s good?

Yup totally agree. To be fair to Cade I'm sure it's incredibly easy to develop bad habits when you combine two injuries and one year of coaching by Brian Ferentz.

Then in turn I'm sure it's hard for Lester to coach those out of him.
Dont agree at all. With devastating injuries the joint never works the same again. Some motions are gone. Nothing there. Changes in surface, going down steps...become challenges.

Take it from someone on the doorstep of 50; everyone else seems to know what you can't do before you do. It's not for lack of confidence, probably too much of it, or atleast false because you had done it before.

Cade is not a bad qb, but certainly not a mismatch. Unfortunately with his lack of arm strength (and receivers) and lack of mobility does not allow him to affect the play if the defensive ends or strong safeties so we have kind of seen the same results ad the past few years Sullivan is a better fit because his legs certainly slow down those dends and if he keeps throwing that ball like he did to ortwerth he will affect the ss too. Sullivan is a mismatch and makes this team more dynamic.

No need to rail on Cade, there is just nonsense in it.

Sounds like you just railed on him and pointed out hes not bad, he just cant throw or run. But other than that...

Cade’s success at Michigan also coincided with over the top stealing opponents signs and superior talent & coaching.

Good for him for trying to keep his dream alive after injuries and making some real money for playing a sport he loves. No one can fault him for that.

I am not railing on him, saying he is a pos or just in it for the money or taking advantage of Iowa. Picking him up in the portal made sense but in the end it just didn't work out. Seems like a good guy, good teammate, and a good qb, just not great and not great for this team. It is what it is, move on.

Which is why he never should have been brought in.
See this is another example of what I talked about before. Fans posting stuff with the benefit of hindsight. Its easy right? So maybe we should start a sign up list of all the people here who REALLY thought at the time that we should not have brought Cade on. Cmon, guys, don't be shy, line up. It should be a really short line. Everybody was clamoring for some new blood at QB. We bring in a guy who led Michigan to the B1G title over OSU and into the CFP. As I remember the response here was one of overwhelming support and joy. YES, he was coming in off an injury (which everybody knew at that time). I don't remember many people having a issue with it at the time. The coaches don't have the benefit of reversing these decisions years later. Maybe we should take that into account as well.

Seriously. Does he watch film and watch other games and think, man I can do that? I mean there has to be some self introspection. The differences between he and Sullivan are literally night and day. It makes you really wonder what this coaching staff goes into a closed room and discusses.

It’s another thing to make stupid posts with a picture of your two sons and last name.

So, I don't think it's necessarily a good idea to evaluate the staff's decision to bet the farm on Cade based upon the fan's reaction to it when it was done. Fans, especially Iowa fans, saw any QB coming from a Michigan or OSU as having to be an upgrade from what had been operating at that position for the past several years. It is not up to the fans however to do an in depth analysis of the value that Cade had brought to the Michigan offense and the current state of his physical well being. If it were, then they would be given the half a million or whatever it is to go out and find a competent QB. The reality is that Cade is just another example of why Kirk and Brian (Kirk by his own admission) had no business being in the QB recruiting and development business. They were/are absolutely terrible at it and Kirk needs to stay out of it by entrusting that responsibility to others that are getting paid to do it.

True, but I'm also sure that the doctors at Uof I or somewhere signed off on Cade and All. Also the two injuries that Cade has suffered since he got to Iowa have furthered his decline, and that was an unknowable situation.

The fans trusted that the staff had assessed his injury and physical capabilities well. Based on that, he looked to be a good get. Now that it's obvious he wasn't in good shape physically of course they're asking questions. Why did you take this guy knowing how compromised he was? But more so..it's the fact that KFz kept playing him long after it was obvious he wasn't able.

See, but your saying NOW that its obvious. Exactly. NOW. As I stated, without question doctors signed off on this. There's no way that the staff didn't vet his condition with world renowned doctors at the U of I. And his issue now has as much to do with the two injuries he's had since he got to Iowa......

Lots of dead horse beating going on here.
tell us again how bad Sullivan's intentional grounding was...compared to say, Cade's play in every game. The pushback against Cade by most of us is amplified by the absolutely pathetic defense of him put up by Kirk and his Storm troopers.
