DOGE Resignations

You are right...classic misleading reporting. Nothing new for them though.
how is that misleading reporting?

all the information - even scruddy's "corrections" - is being taken from that AP article

the headline is 100% accurate

what are they supposed to write for it to be NOT misleading, in your opinion?

These staffers that left were not part of the group that MUSK brought in when DOGE was created. Is that a true statement of not?

Now, if any of the young super slueths that Musk brought in started bailing because they felt something was not right...THAT would be a headline.

Maybe Elon is taking things too far? Do you think it's possible to eliminate waste without taking things to far?

He's a gullible piece of shit human with zero logical deductive abilities, so don't expect something well thought out

Then why did they quit, if they thought redundant, they would have thought this is what we are here to do. The issue is they are doing things they aren't supposed to do, that email stunt was bullsh*t and they are not only being punitive going after specific departments and not other, there doesn't appear to be a real method to their madness . . . its just madness. He hasn't been able to support most of the big claims he has made, so needless to say I am not surprise. I also wouldn't be surprised if congress will clip some of the free range ability they have had, and maybe they got an inkling and that why they quit.
Read the last part of that post and remember what happened when Skynet became self-aware.

That's the whole point, they were not "actually" with DOGE to begin with. They were there before DOGE. How can you quit something you were not really apart of?

I don’t think the jury’s out on whether taking a livelihood away from someone cleaning the bathroom at Mt. Rushmore while leaving billions in Pfizer subsidies untouched is “helping the country”.
I agree....they better dang well go after the pharma companies. The problem is that people on BOTH sides are in their back pockets. UGH

they were employed as part of the DOGE team...and then they quit

that's what the headline says and then the article discusses the nuance that you're clinging to (which would indicate it is being reported)

you're complaining that the headline states the basic facts of what happened

failing to capture your preferred portrayal of the events in the headline is not "misleading" - especially when that portrayal is provided in the body of the article

The headline misled several respondents in this thread to assume people that Musk had brought to DOGE had quit.

I think "Holdover bureaucrats resign rather than work for DOGE" would have confused less of the respondents in this thread, but wouldn't have presented the same dysfunction that the writer of the headline was seeking to portray.

what you're describing is an unwinnable battle for AP writers

people that can't be bothered to read an actual article before crying about "misleading reporting"

but fine...i know how this goes

We will have to agree to disagree. I have explained how the headline could have been less deceptive. It is your choice to move the other way.

Come on now.....the headline is what EVERYONE gravitates to. To act like it means nothing is just silly. Look what happened to Trump with the Charlottesville lie. All the headlines claimed head called neo-nazi's fine people. It was a bold faced lie. And even if they had burried the truth deep in the reporting (which they did not do) the damage would have been done. It is not hard to see how the media is spinning things like a top many, many times.

With a bunch of uncited copypastas from Tyler Durden that most people won't bother reading?

I'm sure you had this same energy when it came to Trump and Vance lying and saying that immigrants were eating cats and dogs in Ohio.

we're in total agreement that it's dumb to base opinions on reporting without reading the actual reporting or try to get conclusions based solely on headlines

I don't remember the media taking Trump's claim (And, BTW, there were people reporting that whole thing about cats and dogs.....it just didn't verify) and running with it as fact like they did with the lie from Charlottesville. They called it out right away.

And, the Charlottesville lie was even worse as they had ALL seen the video of what he actually said and purposly omitted much of his statement that would have made it right.

Actually, I think the headline should be reflective of the truth. You are the one who thinks it is ok to have a misleading headline as long as somewhere within the full reporting there is a correction, which as I said, did not happen with Charlottesville.

that headline is absolutely 100% factual

you wish it was more descriptive in a very specific way ...a way that reinforces your biases

its a judgement call i guess. people that are actively searching for things to call misleading will have no problem finding them

Yes, your narrative is not what it seems. 08 Obama had to get us out of financial crisis so spending was higher. 12 Obama spent way less. Trump is the one of the worst offenders. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Misleading headline, not misleading reporting.

It was immediately obvious from the responses who couldn’t be troubled to read the actual article.
