The future is bright. Four of our five top scorers tonight were freshmen. Freshmen scored 57 of our points. Peter Jok was shut down with 9. This is STARTLING-- Wagner, Uhl, Ellingson, Baer, Kriener, Willaams and Dailey had a TOTAL of SEVEN (that's 7) POINTS tonight. And rebounds-- Cook and Pemsl (11) had over half our rebounds and Baer had 0. That is incredible. I still love this team. It wasn't our night, and it wasn't Fran's fault we lost.

I wouldn't say Pete was "shut down". He wasn't focused and didn't have any energy or emotion. They even called him out for it right away and he never turned it around.

Disappointing, as he was one of our best pure shooters in a long time.

Now it's time to see whether the young guys can make big strides with their game. If they can continue to improve over the next 3 years this team will be scary good.

I think Indiana dictated everything that happened tonight. Iowa played badly cause Indiana caused Iowa to play badly.

But...no reason to go postal about it. It's not like Iowa lost to piss us off. They didn't beat our kids, they didn't kick our dog, they didn't wreck our car. I guarantee the team feels a lot worse about it than we do.

The sun will rise tomorrow.

The one's that freak out are the same one's that yo-yoed all season long with the team's erratic play. No reason why they'd suddenly gain any sense now.

Its a little easier to stomach losing THIS way than that damn Minnesota game that STILL haunts me!

Can't wait to see the Hawks in the post-season. 18 wins by a mostly freshman team isn't bad. All things considered: injuries to different players, multiple lineup adjustments, etc, things could be a lot worse. I'm anxious to see what happens in the Wisky game. Couldn't get that first round monkey off of our back today, but it will happen.

But the present is pitch black.
