Yes he's back and I'm happy about it. Great addition!Does he have another year of eligibility or is he done after this year? Thanks for the info.
Has a year, but you have link that says it's been decided?Yes he's back and I'm happy about it. Great addition!
Guess I assumed. I don't know why he won't but my bad.Has a year, but you have link that says it's been decided?
Someone said he wants to go to Europe. No clue if there's any truth to that though.Guess I assumed. I don't know why he won't but my bad.
He's said it numerous times.Has a year, but you have link that says it's been decided?

Also of note, the five juniors-to-be and Joe have COVID bonus years available.Rebraca said on a June 9, 2021 zoom call that his plan was to play for 2 seasons (including 2022-2023), at Iowa.
We currently have 1 scholarship left for the 2022-2023 season (will change to at least 2 when Keegan declares for the NBA draft).
In Men's basketball, of course, you can have 13 on scholarship.
Connor coming back would change what follows. I have removed Keegan, assuming he is off to the NBA.
2022-2023 Roster (11 on Scholarship; 2 scholarships available):
FRESHMEN: 2 players
6'3" PG Dasonte Bowen
6'5" SG, Josh Dix
SOPHOMORES: 2 players
6'7" F Payton Sandfort
6'11" C Riley Mulvey
JUNIORS: 5 players
6'11" C Josh Ogundele
6'4" G Tony Perkins
6'2" G Ahron Ulis
6'8" F Kris Murray
6'9" SF Patrick McCaffery
SENIORS: 2 players
5'10" PG Joe Toussaint
6'9" SF Filip Rebraca
Notable Walk on players:
SOPHOMORES: 2 players
Luc Laketa
Carter Kingsbury
Riley has shown a lot less baby fat over the course of the season. Should have red shirted. Riley is going to see a lot more minutes next season.
Kind of early for that, don't you think?Frankly, I wouldn't mind too much if McCaffery would try to find a Div. II program for Ogundele to join. I just don't see him developing into a player that provides significant benefits for the Hawks.
And the COVID year doesn't count towards scholly count, correct? Also of note, the five juniors-to-be and Joe have COVID bonus years available.
CorrectAnd the COVID year doesn't count towards scholly count, correct?
I could be wrong but I think that only applies to medical redshirt issues. A regular redshirt is burned the second you step on court.Has he played more than 10 games? If not, he's good.
It does starting next year. And the COVID year doesn't count towards scholly count, correct?
That's some bullshit! It does starting next year.

I thought that changed with the football rule. Like how you can play in 3 games and still redshirt.
This isn't football. You need a medical redshirt I think.Has he played more than 10 games? If not, he's good.

Fran might have been playing the long game on this one. Josh was teammates with Dasonte Bowen out east. I’m not saying that Fran didn’t see something in Josh, but it probably didn’t hurt they know each other. Bowen has like 30 offers. We want Bowen.Kind of early for that, don't you think?
He's got 3 more years, maybe 4 with his Covid-19 year. He has physical talent that cannot be taught. I'd rather McC gave him another year - if he gets passed up by Mulvey he'll probably leave on his own.
Are you just speculating like everyone else that Keegan is absolutely gone, or has he officially stated to you or in the news media that he is leaving after the end of this season. Please give an honest answer.....Rebraca said on a June 9, 2021 zoom call that his plan was to play for 2 seasons (including 2022-2023), at Iowa.

He really shouldn’t have reclassed. He should be enjoying his senior year in HS this year.Riley has shown a lot less baby fat over the course of the season. Should have red shirted. Riley is going to see a lot more minutes next season.
Even Keegan going pro can be a positive. Iowa went a really long time without any NBA connections of note. Two guys last year got drafted and now Keegan as a potential lottery pick. That kind of thing can be used to sell the program.Keegan is a projected Top 10 NBA lottery pick. I (and every Hawk fan) would be thrilled if he came back for another year of college but....
Actually, Fran has had a lot of high profile misses. Maybe he starts landing a couple of those guys.Agree on Keegan. Iowa having the NPOY immediately followed by an All-American who becomes an NBA Lottery Pick puts Iowa on the map for lots of high school studs who Iowa wouldn't have had a chance with 5 years ago.
That said... really only matters if Fran and Co. capitalize by reaching out to recruits who don't fit their traditional mold of "Slightly underrated guys who fit our system". Would be a bummer to look back in 2-3 years and feel like Iowa has the same ceiling recruit wise.
It was either a broadcast or podcast that mentioned recently Rebraca said he is coming back for another year. He’s shown nice progression the last month or so …Does he have another year of eligibility or is he done after this year? Thanks for the info.
Maybe with everything going on over there he may hold off on heading back for another year. I do like the fact he has brought some toughness to the team. He's a 4 going up against a lot of quality Big 10 C and doesn't back down.Someone said he wants to go to Europe. No clue if there's any truth to that though.
This about the fifth thread, he said he would be here for both years when he arrivedHas a year, but you have link that says it's been decided?
16 games.Has he played more than 10 games? If not, he's good.
You didn't answer the question Fran, has Keegan come out and said to you or anyone else that this is his last year at Iowa? Otherwise it's just speculation...Keegan is a projected Top 10 NBA lottery pick. I (and every Hawk fan) would be thrilled if he came back for another year of college but....
