Not good, but sounds like he should be back by fall practice, so if you're gonna get hurt and miss about four months, this is about the best timing possible.
A patella tear is a serious injury even if it is just a partial tear. He might be back by October but it isn't going to be like he will show up like nothing happened. It is too bad because I was hoping he would be our 2nd or 3rd option in the passing game. Now I don't expect much of an impact from him.
Kirk Ferentz just confirmed that due to Duzeys injury UI football will officially canel all spring football activities and will instead focus on recruiting eastern Iowa.
I heard he will be out thru late September, early Ocotober, which would be 5 months
i know 2 people who had full tears. Your quad rolls up towards your hip; the surgeon has to make an incision, go up and grab the quad muscle, and pull it back down towards the knee cap; the quad is then reattached to the knee cap in 3 different places
a full tear is a very painful injury; i am sure a partial tear is not much fun but at least his quad muscle is intact
