Earth changed during pandemic

For the better. Watched a documentary about how well Earth did during lockdown. Animals thrived. Pollution was down. Humans don't deserve this planet
You finally stumbled upon the reason the left has promoted some of the most idiotic policies of the last 100 years. ie. Not allowing the State of California to take preventative measures to prevent forest fires, claiming cow farts are destroying the world,.

A)Are you this stupid to believe all this shit you spew?
B)Or are you just a lying piece of shit?
C)All of the above?

And the answer is C

Did it mention anything about increase in paper products? Did that go up?
Feel like everywhere I went you wiped down everything you touched. Our office went through 10 times the paper towels when wiping down office and meeting spaces. Back then and still now I'm curious how much paper and cleaning supplies (chemicals, plastic bottles and so on) we went through

And there you have it. The quiet part out loud.

Keep that in mind when you here environmental advocates on this board or anywhere else trying to tell you it's just common sense science that we must x, y, z immediately to stave off the planet bursting into flame.

At the core, the vast majority of environmentalists want no economies, no (or way fewer) humans, no industry, no markets. It's an anti-human philosophy. The idea of massive human misery, population collapse, economic collapse, barely subsistance surviving...that isn't the unfortunate side effect of the drastic policies they claim are needed...they are the point.

(I'm not anti-environmetal, and I think we should be taking steps to ensure the health of the planet. But I have absolutely zero time for the activists who really want most to see a total depopulation, and absolute elimination of industry or property)

did people think this was some big secret?

that decreased human activity would improve things that negatively impacted by human activity?

i guess you run into a lot more environmentalists that want "no humans" than i do

it's not all humans, to me it's the before the industrial revolution the early earth dwellers seemed very aware of taking care of this beautiful plant of ours. Then money and greed took over.
What year was that?
Was it during the Steel boom in Pittsburgh?

The cities that were run by D's shutdown. For most everybody else, it wasn't a lot different than now.

For many state and federal jobs, they are still shutdown. You have to admit that is pretty stupid.

Almost all of the activists endorse massive depopulation openly, or if they want to be subtle, the constriction of economies well beyond the ability to support anywhere near the current number of humans.

That might not be the view of every person that just generally "cares about the environment". But all your bleeding edge environmental parties want exactly that. Why do you think they fight tooth and nail the ability to build any housing or anything that advances human progress, including blocking green energy and public transit projects.

The average earth friendly thinking person is like "We need to transition to clean energy. We need to build thoughtful high density housing and mass transit that reduces much of the the need for pollution emitting vehicles." That sounds fine in theory, but that's not what the actual environmental advocacy groups are working toward. They absolutely use lawfare to attempt to prevent building housing, building transit, building wind and solar, building transmission lines, battery factories...anything. They cripple it all, any place where progressive "environmentally friendly" governments, or the courts, give them the power to. The goal of the activist orgs is complete stall of human progress.

i work in housing, transit/transportation planning, etc and I have never actually run into this from an "environmental activist" (the thing that kill mass transit is lack of ridership/public funding and the thing that kills high density housing is reactions from neighbors/nimbyism and local land use/zoning laws)

in fact, i've never really run into an "environmental activist" in the way you're describing "almost all of them"

i'm sure you're right and not exaggerating at all though

It's extremely easy to find examples, especially now that some democrats and reasonable environmentalists are getting super pissed off about it. And you are about to see a lot more when they try to block rebuilding anything from the LA fires.

So are you planning to set an example for the rest of us by departing this world?

I love instant validation of an OP.

The first two responders to this thread would be at the top of any list to purge the Earth of absolute wastes of space.

Garbage human beings in; garbage human beings out.

It is funny how a very short post by me inflames so many into their own narrative. What I posted is fact. Pollution levels went down. Animals were thriving. Simple as that.

For many state and federal jobs, they are still shutdown. You have to admit that is pretty stupid.

Actually makes a lot of sense. Private companies are doing the same. Why waste money on a building/lease/purchase and pay for utilities you don't need.

Can’t help but notice that you dodged my point (yet again). When Jimmy says that humans don’t deserve this planet, did he perhaps mean humans other than himself? That would certainly be consistent with the good old leftist “thee, but not me” mantra.

wtf are you talking about? Pollution was down, animals thrived. Nothing political there. Fact.

I’m talking about “humans don’t deserve this planet”, dipshit. If you don’t think you deserve this planet, there’s plenty of ways to leave. Or would you prefer to return to the days of pre-history?

The planet will not die from turtles or salmon. It will die from humans. Skate it however you want.
