He made too many game costing errors.
Thomas Brown as coach is pretty funny considering where he started this year. What a shit show
He absolutely deserved to be fired, but this is the first time in franchise history the Bears have fired a head coach mid-season. So in that regard, it's a little bit of a shocker.
Few things in life have been as earned as this.
Eberflus won a total of 14 games in three seasons with the Bears.
He was a lousy coach who did not have a clue on clock management
and how to win games. He should never have been hired, but it is
great to see that he was fired. QB Caleb Williams deserves better.

Eberflus, nice guy but not much of a head coach. Caleb Williams is grossly overrated.
He is one of the most incompetent HCs I've ever seen. He surrounded him self with a bunch of flat brained people too.
There needs to be one more person fired in the organization, but I doubt the inept ownership will do it.

There is always a chance they hire him again after going through the process of looking for a new coach.
When you have the chance to hire a defensive coordinator who coordinated an almost top 12 defense on a team that almost made the playoffs like the Indianapolis Colts, you gotta go for it. I'm shocked Eberflus didn't work out.
I assume they are looking at Brian Ferentz due to his good relationship with the punter.
Caleb can ball. Coaches are going to want to work with him.

Eberflus apparently made a press appearance at the podium at Halas Hall today hrs before he got fired acting as if everything was normal and they were starting prep for their next game.

I took today's move as a signal to Ryan Poles to look for a drop cloth on the floor in Kevin Warren's office if he gets called in for another meeting.
Poles hired Eberflus, and Poles hung in there with Eberflus for too long. Poles, if he stays, needs to know that this is the last HC he hires as GM if it doesn't work out.
I am not an apologist, but like my last post, I think Poles was going to move forward with Eberflus, and Warren said f that.

Nah I think it was just hard to get George on board with the mid season firing. Poles knows the longer he held onto Flus the more likely he'd be shown the door too. The delays had mckaskey written all over it.

Yeah, I was fully resigned to having to wait until the end of the season because of this.
When you have a generational offensive talent like Taylor, it’s important that the Bears put him with a coach that just gets him.
I think we've seen far more from Williams as a rookie that we did with Fields, who while I liked the pick, never evolved as a passer.
I think anyone with eyes can tell the difference between the two
