Epperly - would look good in Hawk singlet

Or a wrestler with different college selection criteria than you.
I'm not quite following you here. Can you offer an example of a criterion that would be met with an Epperly transfer that wouldn't be met without?

You'd be trying to convince some dumber wrestlers to come into your program. Anybody with a bit of analytical skill would recognize (1) the small program didn't develop him, and (2) he's gone after that year so likely his influence as even a training partner is limited.
I get it, Epperly doesn't want to wrestle anymore, and may not have any desire to get a graduate degree. That's his choice. But, I don't get the argument that it doesn't make sense from a team's perspective. It would make a ton of sense for a lot of different teams.

Just to give a hypothetical situation where this makes a ton of sense would be NDSU. I think at a place like NDSU he would be able to work out a deal where he wrestles on scholarship for 1 year and then can finish his degree as a grad assistant in year 2. NDSU has returning national qualifiers at 157 and 165. The 165 pounder was a freshman this year, so he gets 2 years to workout and grow with a 2x AA. NDSU also gets another guy that is a potential AA which they were shut out of this year.

It could help a more established program too. Oklahoma State for example loses Crutchmer. I don't know their situation that well, but they didn't have another 174 or 165 on the roster this year that appears to be a point scorer at this spot. So, they could slide in an AA caliber guy and another possible 10 points or so at nationals. It won't get them past PSU, but might push them from up a spot at the end of the year.

Sure, but let's generalize away from Epperly because he's not going to grad school.

A school that specializes in a graduate program not offered by his undergraduate institution. Or a school closer to home for family reasons. Or a less expensive school. Or a coach he has a good relationship with. Or any number of other reasons.

My only objection to your comment was calling someone a "dumb" wrestler if their choices don't align with some fan's ideal.

Ah, I see my point wasn't clear. The post I quoted was suggesting that a single grad transfer would possibly attract HS wrestlers to a lesser program. I meant that a HS school kid or his family would be silly to think that having a single year AA (on the receiving program) that wasn't developed in that program represented a major shift for the program. I never meant that transferring kid couldn't have a solid reason.

I love when a poster doubles down on dumb. First, take your meds and then go back and read the post again and again until you can comprehend what was written. Every single thing you've written has come from your fantasy world.

Sorry everyone else. I usually just put posters on ignore when they get personal. I'll put this db on ignore right now so I don't have to see any more of his dribble.
