ESPN Coverage

For anybody who is old enough to remember the tape-delayed and show 3 minutes of a championship match CBS Sports Spectacular coverage from years gone by, what ESPN does is just outstanding.

Thank you ESPN

Yes. I remember tuning in to see about 45 secs of Brands/Fried in 91 which was preceded by Terry being cradled in his final, which we got to see about 30 secs of. Love getting to see it all.

Agreed...huge thanks to ESPN. I would say this is a great sign that our sport is plenty healthy right now. I don't see any need to push the tournament back a month as they are proposing unless ESPN can guarantee the same level of coverage.

Our sport is! But ESPN isn't. Looking at a lot of layoffs and cutbacks. Doing a lot of color play by play watching the video feed of games in studio in Connecticut rather than going to games(to save $).

I'm not sure how much money they pay to get our tourney, but let's hope they can keep it!!

SIAP someone say if CC was in finals they should show 133 last. Anybody else have a prediction on the "marquee" matchup that they will have be the last final?

184 will be marquee:
Dean vs Brooks
Dean vs Martin
Dean vs. Nickal
Its a blind draw, wink wink.

Don't be surprised if it is an Okie State match, like 141 or 149, due to the team race perhaps coming down to the final matches. Without a Dake-Taylor type match, and the team race right now looking like its way up for grabs, would expect that this is what happens.

It looks to me like ESPN3 will cover all the mats 1-8 today and 8 mats for QTR finals tomorrow. 6 Mats for semis and 3 mats on Saturday. Track will show the mat assignments. ESPNU and ESPN will probably show a 4 mat split screen at best.

And that 4 mat split screen is awesome! They have done a great job of hitting the right matches in the past, if they see a match going into OT they'll switch it over, if they see an upset brewing they'll switch to it. Leave track up on your phone or tablet, sit at the computer going to specific mats (mostly for Topher, Cash, and Meyer) while the TV is covering almost every big match.
These next three days are the best.
