ESPN Radio Logic: Blue Bloods Struggling Means Basketball Struggles

Duke, Kentucky, UNC, MSU, Kansas all missed on the top freshmen recruits. They went to schools like Okie St, Gonzaga, USC, FSU or just skipped college. When you rely on so many 1 and done guys but only get 1 maybe 2 instead of 3 or 4 its going to hurt. Combine that with a revolving door of a roster every year and the fact you no longer develop players for the long term and its a recipe for disaster. Talent level isnt down. The 1 and dones are jusy playing for a lot of mid level teams. You then have loaded rosters on teams like Gonzaga, Baylor, Iowa, and Texas instead of Duke, ACC #2 and Kentucky. This has been a pretty good year of games in the B1G, Big 12 and even the ACC and Big East.

Missed? In the 2020 class: Kentucky and Duke both have 5 top 50 guys. UNC has 4.

I said the top freshmen 1 and done type of guys. Top 5 - Top 10 types. The high end talents. The Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley and Jalen Suggs types.

The old, tired argument of "The sport is better when so-and-so is good" is a load of B.S. Like others have mentioned, having all the blue bloods down is making this an awesome college basketball season, while having the same teams in the CFP year after year has gotten really stale.

I'm sure all the talking heads and know-it-alls are sad that they can't fellate Duke, N.C., Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State and UCLA all day every day, but no one else gives a sh*t. Just like I'm sure that there aren't a whole lot of general sports fans out there who are besides themselves because the Patriots, Warriors, Yankees and Red Wings don't win quite like they used to.

Yes, I like an NCAA that Iowa can compete in.

The NCAA football playoffs are unwatchable with same teams Alabama/clemson/Ohio State with multiple repeats.

blue bloods dominating means the sport is garbage. NCAA college football National playoffs is unwatchable with Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State being the only teams that can make the playoffs and have a chance.

Might be better for generic tv audience fans but for real fans that follow their specific teams the door is wide open and love this development.
