This is football version of Fox News or msnbc. I just about puke watching Robert smith discredit the big ten. One of those guys never had a big ten team in the playoffs. We meaning the big ten better have a undeated team going in to the playoffs or the ESPN political machine will be out in force. I truly hope the big ten ,acc, pac ten and the big twelve all have one team go undefeated and the sec winner has one loss. Don't the other conference have their own tv station or are they all hooked in with ESPN.

espn sucks, they make boat loads of money, and they're good at it. (making money, not reporting on sports) everything they do is geared to make money.

Given the budget cuts they have been making and the rumors of the extensive cuts they are being asked to make in the future their money-making ability may be waning a bit.

That or they are trying to find a way to not have to charge cable (and dish) companies $55 a person or whatever for their TV package.

Yup, you are pissed off, but you are still watching, that is all they care about.

BTW, do they actually have a contract with the SEC or something? If not, why do they pimp them so hard?

ESPN developed the SEC network along with the conference.

This all likely has a shelf-life as Delaney has said that he's leaving the door open to ESPN when negotiations roll around again for the B1G Network.

You're mixing a couple of issues. Tier One of Big 10 TV contract comes up here in 18 months. Delany has said he has willing to talk to ESPN, despite the overwhelming likelihood we move to Fox.

That has nothing to do with BTN. It's not like Fox is gonna lose their share of that network even if we stay with ESPN.

Unless I missed some of the segment, here's what I saw. The comparison was B1G east to SEC west.
So, Iowa would not have been mentioned. Now, if I missed something else let me know.

Who the hell has Baylor played? Answer: No one. But that will change after this week. Then let's talk Baylor in about a month. The mighty Bears will be lucky to only have two losses by then. Deal?

I absolutely love all the disrespect. I just hope the players are seeing all of it too. Nothing will stoke the fire like that.

I absolutely DO NOT CARE what ESPN or any network says or doesn't say about the Hawks.

You guys need to realize something right now. IF IOWA GOES 13-0, we're in the playoff. If not, we are going to a damn fine bowl, perhaps the Rose. Nothing any network says matters.

This is rich. Sixty days ago the disrespect for the Iowa football program was off the charts in our own fan base. Now we bash the ESPN guys for not giving us any respect.

ESPN is not an unbiased news organization (the "E" stands for entertainment!). I expect the people making opinions to have bias - everyone does!

But let's not kid ourselves. Do you really think the strategy at ESPN is to alienate the fans in the heavily populated states of Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, PA and NY to appease the fans in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana?

I'm not buying it.

It's funny...the hypocrisy that comes out of these guys. Herbstreit was talking about Baylor and why he like them...then adds, I know they haven't played anyone yet so their resume to date is insufficient, but they have all the pieces and should be at the top of the playoff discussion. How do you bash an Iowa team that has played a more difficult schedule for having an easier go of it in the final five games. The reality is, every game presents problems and challenges you. It's how you deal with those challenges and how much you grow throughout the season that determines your worthiness for postseason. If Iowa wins the final five, a big, big if, they will have earned that worthiness to play in the big 10 championship and if they are healthy...they could win it.

Let's not forget, the college gameday crew is a Big 10 crew. There aren't any SEC guys on there. Rocket Ismial is a Michigan Man. Lee Corso is Indiana. Herbstreit was an OSU quarterback. It's not like ESPN forces them to bash their own Big 10. They give their objective opinions, and for a long time, the SEC has been the dominant conference (they've won like 10 of 12 national titles). If the Big 10 wins, we will win over the country. The best thing that can happen to the Big 10 is for OSU and Mich to be good.

Rocket Ismial is a Michigan Man.

After what Rocket did to Michigan I think most Michigan fans would have you drawn and quartered confusing Desmond with Rocket.
