ESPNs fake FPI still has LSU at #5

I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm guessing ESPN has never disclosed their formula what a joke

They openly state that a big part of their fpi formula is the past 4 years performance (record) and recruiting rankings.

I kid you not, Iowa can't be that good this year because they played terrible in 2014, and how good a kid was in high school will tell you how good his college team will perform when he's a junior. That's FPI for you.

This is true. The formula weights/counts record over the past 4 years and recruiting rankings. Those two things can often be an indicator of how good/bad a team might be, but this concept of a FPI is just ridiculous, where performance on the field in the current year is not the most important factor.

ESPN wants to have a say in the rankings in order to affect the playoff participants. That FPI crap scrolls across the bottom of the screen all day.
It's the worst joke in College Football. But so is ESPN.
