According to Nielsen, 33.8 million people watched Biden’s inauguration between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 20, the third-highest viewership of any presidential inauguration in the past 40 years.
Only the first inaugurations of Presidents Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan exceeded Biden’s TV audience. Nielsen calculated 30.6 million people watched Donald Trump assume office in 2017.

The smallest since 2013? Does that mean Obama had a lower television rating than Trump in his second term?
I don't understand how they do this anymore with so many different streaming services that showed the day. You could watch it on most channels and/or social media sights. No way they have any idea how many people watch anything.
The only reason this matters or even got mentioned was because Trump will be bothered by it.
It's not surprising that an inauguration of a person who is already president isn't exactly super exciting to watch.
I think this speaks to the fact the most people would have preferred other options than what we were presented.

Trump is going to have terrible ratings. He's been in reruns since 2016. Look at his "speech", on Monday. A tangential experience in Hillary bashing and mumbling about brown people. Look, people lined up to see Fat Elvis right up until the night he died on the crapper, so there will always be a market for Trump's routine, but for most of the population he's stale. His numbers are going to tank as he squanders his term on personal grudges with no effort to make things better for the average citizen.
No lower than 35%. There is literally nothing he can do to make Republicans stop loving him.

Made even more amazing that basically no one actually admits to watching Fox News, but folks love to call out the fandom for the channel.
