Even Brauns is Officially a Hawkeye

I'm optimistic. The Missouri Valley Conference is not a bad Conference for smaller schools as far as that goes so Krikke i expect close to 20 points a game. And Brauns isn't to bad either. We got 2 bigs from the portal. Not super stars being recruited by everyone but good players none the less. With Nimmers taking over for Uhlis we are NCAA tournament bound. We're going to be better than people expect. Also think uhlis left cause he lost his starting job to Nimmers next season.
One can score and the other can rebound and play defense

This is a confusing reply but I'll try to decipher. I'm not complaining, I'm merely expressing concern about the inexperience as it pertains to B1G, high-major game experience. Particularly at the PG spot, perhaps the most important position in the college game. We have the talent, just not a lot of experience or depth. We stand a shot at post-season play though as I expressed earlier IMO.

Since it's too difficult for you to reference an Iowa Roster, I'll give you a hint. You left off two guards - both from the Quad Cities. Surely you can take it from there between that and the clues provided by ILLQCHawk and HoustonREDHawk. Good luck.
if you are talking about Harding if you would read my post I clearly stated RETURNING PLAYERS WITH playing experience. Harding wasn't even on the team as he was still in HS and Nimmers RS'd and did not play in any games.

so try again.

Then again, you mentioned 2 other players that were not on the team last year in Freeman and Dembele, but left off Harding, Pryce Sandford, and Amarion Nimmers. Cherry picking players you think may not get minutes is just wrong.
I've seen enough of AN in past high school video's to know a scholarship player when I see them and Nimmers is diffidently worth a scholarship as he is possibly the most skilled and athletic player at Iowa and it's not even close and Fran was right there on the sidelines watching Amarion score against Iowa's best in Kris, Filip, and others, hopefully when the team gets back from it's European trip he will have earned one.

looking at team Brauns played on
they finished a tie for 3rd with Southern IIIinois behind Bradley and Drake
that team had 5 SR's. so it was hard for Brauns to pad his stats,
Brauns added 16 steals and 42 blocks while only 21..2 mpg. I will let those that know how the per 40 minutes works.

Krikke was a 4* by On3 and his team had 6 SR's another player that was limited in how he could pad his stats.

their team rebounded as a team here were the top rebounders
Brauns 5.9
Green 4.6
King 4.1
Palm 4.0
for a team that avg'd just 34.0 rpg
so those 4 grabbed 18.6 rpg.

that is a pretty solid number for rebounding. to go with 17 steals and 28 blocks

try rereading post again which I posted here

RETURNING starters
RSSR Pat
SR Perkins
JR Sanfort
1st one off the bench
Bowen SO
Dix SO
final 4 off the bench
Mulvey JR
Walk on Kingsbury RSSO
Lakata JR
Elridge SR

no where in that list did I mention any of the incoming players FR or Portal players

again posters arguing just to argue by making things up.

Decent job in portal nothing super however...good average players that we have to wait and see how they handle the physicality of the BIG

at 250 lbs it is the other teams that wlll have to adapt to the physicality that these players that they can bring to this team can bring. just for a reference these are what are being addedm
6'9 240 lbs Krikke
6'9 240 lbs Brauns
6'9 250 lbs Dembele
6'11 235 lbs Freeman who was upgrade to a 4* by ESPN
6'11 245 lbs Mulvey if he improves

that makes 4 bigs and one that is a maybe to play the 4/5 position.

with ESPN upgrading Freeman to a 4* that makes 3 4*'s by one site
Sanfort top 100 4*
Harding now a 4*
Freeman now a 4*

then you add in Dembele being a 4* by Rivals

that is a clean sweep of 4* in the 24 class. the most in Fran's tenure. the future is looking up, then you add in top 100 4* Koch in the 24 class
this what postes have been clamoring for and he is starting to get..

and I refer to ESPN is this reason
Uthoff was rated a #147 3* while ESPN had him as a top 100 4*
Gesell was dropped from #75 to #100 by Rivals while he remained at #75 by ESPN
Woodbury was dropped from #35 by Rivals to #50 while he stayed at #39 by ESPN

Cook dropped from #42 to #74 by Rivals while he remained at #38 by ESPN. those are the most notable, to many to list that should be listed. those are the ones under rated. now its Freeman and Harding that can be added to the reason for not relying on Rivals for player ranking for any sports.

Lol oh kilroy

It appears to be lining up that Nimmers gets that last ride, as many has suspected for some time.

Iowa hasn't been linked to any other portal transfers (aside from Grant Nelson but we're not getting him, substantiated by the Brauns announcement IMO) to my knowledge.

If so, that leaves us with a talented, yet relatively inexperienced, roster with a lot of new pieces next year. We have only 3 players with any meaningful experience as an IA Hawkeye. Krikke and Bruans are experienced but in a mid-major league of course. The rest are inexperienced, yet talented, Soph and Freshmen.

IMO, an NIT birth would be a solid result. An NCAA tournament bid would be a very impressive result.

Plus we need to win a championship for @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset.

I think we see Brauns do some things. Get him running with Harding and Bowen, hammer the glass and pound people in the paint. Big and athletic with two years left. Freeman will get a few minutes as well. Dembale is a wildcard. Lots to mix and match here with the Sandforts and PMac.
