I also want to clarify that I think many anti-Trump folks like me cannot stand Trump, but don’t hate his followers. My take is that you have all been conned by a world class grifter and snake oil salesman. Some got sucked in by policy, others are gullible and many are simply not intelligent or capable of critical thinking. I personally don’t believe the majority of Trump voters are bad people (but yes I know some Dems think that way).

My list:

• I don’t believe all Trump wants is America to prosper. I think what Trump wants is for Trump to prosper and if the rest of us get a piece - great, if not he isn’t going to lose sleep over it
• His economic policies are NOT designed to make America prosper. Wealthy people like me will do great, the middle class are going to get hammered by his tariffs…unfortunately many of them don’t understand how that works. I have lived in that world for 20 years - trust me, it will be highly inflationary
• Trump is NOT respected on the world stage. His only asset is his unpredictability. This works occasionally as a strategy, but it creates chaos and sows division among our actual allies. This is the path to enabling authoritarian regimes around the world - not the path to a more prosperous America
• His behaviors are despicable. They don’t represent my moral values. I believe values matter in a leader and Trump is the opposite of almost everything I believe in. Even if I agreed with all his policies, I still could not vote for that piece of shit
• I agree the border needs to be solved, but this is like maybe the 6th or 7th issue on my list (deficit, economy, democratic process and foreign relations all rank higher for starters). I also don’t believe he will be able to do what he says he will. I think it is just more snake oil like having Mexico pay for it, building that wall, etc.

My mood is great, Iowa thumped Wisconsin, Washington is 7-2, I think the women's team is going to be a lot better then what the press thinks, and Christmas is right around the corner which I love with the grandkids. Trump inherited an economy that was chugging along nicely. The TCJA simply acted as an adrenaline rush, which wasn’t needed, and then led to corporate excesses like the stock buybacks.

The energy access discussion is mostly a red herring as both sides mischaracterize the issues here. The truth is that energy production continues to rise and fall based on numerous economic factors beyond the president’s control (many of these are global factors).

Tariff’s screwed up the economy the first time Trump used them; remember the farm bailout fiasco?
