I'm afraid you misunderstand, the OP - a true believer MAGA, probably similar to yourself - actually thinks Trump is trying to trigger a recession on purpose. I know, sounds stupid doesn't it?

If it was as simple as just changing the definition, we wouldn't need the tariffs, DOGE, attacks on the independency of the fed and all the rest to achieve the desired recession.

Many Trump voters perceived themselves as 'victims'. Their circumstances (read plight) in life was set-up by the government. The 'victims' retaliate by 'victimizing' others, they deserve to suffer. DJT is their revenge. Trump punishes, demeans, denigrates those least able to defend themselves; immigrants, minorities, the poor, federal employees, transexuals, et al. Trump supporters are rewarded, and avenged.

Bingo, they don't love him in spite of him being a complete ass, they love because he is a complete baffoonish ass.
