Fake video, images claim to show Muslim joy over Paris attacks

I'm going to bow out of a discussion with a certifiable moron after pointing out that the right is significantly absent on this thread. This guy is one of yours...do you all want to be judged based on HIM?

Edit - except for 86Hawkeye who appears to be firmly entrenched in the extermination camp.

I don't think he's a righty based on his posting history and run-ins I've had with him.

I didn't imply a damn thing. Go back and read the post. I said some don't survive the trip...the little boy is in the water...he drowned. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out but I'll make sure I spell everything out for you in the future.

And you still haven't called out the poster preaching genocide.

You didn't get a grin out of your original post when you said "one less Muslim to kill"?

And I don't have to "call out" anyone to satisfy you.

Wrong. Though I disagree with their forum, I at least understand their frustration that similarly awful terrorist attacks in their country get little to no recognition.

Come on man. You're buying that revisionist explanation? Give me a break. Why is it so hard to admit that amongst the Muslim population a small, but still worryingly significant, minority believe in jihad or believe that terrorism against the West is justified?

Both sides overreact so much to each of these incidents. A large group of people want something approaching total war against Islam. But an equal and opposite group of people want to pretend that Islam is misunderstood by Westerners and no more dangerous than any other religion, and that the West has brought this terrorism on themselves.

I mean, we need to admit that Islamic extremism is a serious problem, a cancer within their religion, and that a dangerous number of practicing Muslims are extremists. At the same time, we need to admit that the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists or sympathetic to terrorists, and that it is impossible in this day and age to isolate ourselves from the Muslim world. In any case, they are already here amongst us, so we better figure out how to integrate them into a society which cherishes traditional Western values.

Until both sides can admit the realities and accurately describe the problem before us, we're going to get no where on the solutions.

No, I didn't. My moment came when you went after me rather than the exterminator.

And you should call him out to satisfy yourself. But you didn't...and haven't.

Yes. To protect my country, the idea of freedom, and for a safer world overall. Those people have had enough time to get their "extremists" in line. It's obvious the extremist views arent far off from what the general Muslim thinks.

It is far from obvious. What IS obvious is you are a dangerous nutjob. Please tell me you do not own or have access to guns.

This isn't an either/or proposition and to seek the full truth is far from "revisionist" (you don't understand the meaning): Yeah, I actually do "buy" the reasoning. It would be like asking American fans to observe a moment of silence for terrorist killings in Saudi Arabia after having no such courtesy (and even apathy) to the victims of 9/11. AND YET I do believe there are a minority of MIDDLE EAST Muslims (a fraction of the world's Islamic population. And let's call this what it is: a Middle East problem) who hold dangerous beliefs.

No, I didn't.

Well I'm glad.

BTW, I liked your reference to "the exterminator".

Whatever dude. You're telling me that those chanting "Allahu Akbar" were just protesting against Western hypocrisy? Right. Were some booing because they were protesting the lack of similar displays for Turkish victims? Probably. But the likelihood that those chanting Allahu Akbar were merely protesting? Well, shut your eyes if you want to.

And if this is a Middle East problem, why were almost all of the attackers in Paris citizens of Western countries? What about the Tsarnaevs, who'd lived in the U.S. since they were 8 and 12? Were they a Middle East Muslim problem?

The Paris attackers were of middle eastern descent. As for the Tsarnaevs, are Americans who murder abortion doctors and clinic workers in the name of God a problem because they are Christians, OR because they are lone, violent, and psychotic?

Oh so it is only a small minority of Muslims in the M.E. that are ok with the Hating/murdering gays and treating women like 2nd class citizens...got it.

No, I meant "dangerous" as in posing a danger to us. Try to stay on topic here.

What does being "of middle eastern descent" have to do with it? They were still Westerners with Western citizenship. The Charlie Hebdo murderers were the same. So are you saying that we should admit Muslim refugees of non-Middle Eastern descent but not Muslim refugees of Middle Eastern descent? Or are you saying that white Muslims are okay, but brown Muslims are not? That's just the silliest thing I've seen in a while. Who are the 200 Americans and thousands of Westerners fighting for ISIS? Are they a Middle Eastern Muslim issue?

Do some Christians take their religion too far and become radicals and kill innocents? Yes, of course. And it is wrong. But don't pretend it happens with anywhere near the same level of incidence as it does with Muslims. The number of Christians killing in the name of God right now isn't even close to the number of Muslims doing it.

Are you so daft as to think Caucasian, or Asian, or American Muslims are as equally susceptible to extremist ideology as Muslims from the Middle East? That might get the award for dumbest thing I've read today.

Well, the good news for you is that some of them don't survive the trip. One less terrorist you need to kill. I'm sure this puts a big grin on your face.

Damn. As a father of little ones this picture hurts my heart. After reading about it he lost his 5 year old brother and mother too. His little tennis shoes damn near brought me to tears here in my office. Sad that he had to lose his life while trying to find a better one outside of his native country.

Agree 100%. That's the reality for refugees.

You should stick to soccer where you rarely, but occasionally, say something kind of smart. So a Muslim in America with American citizenship but of Middle Eastern descent is not an "American Muslim"? Are you suggesting that we segregate the Muslims of Middle Eastern descent from our population? Are the thousands of Western born Muslims fighting for ISIS not relevant? What about the Islamic terrorist in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines? Not relevant?

In any case, this all started because you believe that everyone in Turkey was innocently protesting Western hypocrisy by booing and chanting "Allahu Akbar". Yet they were surely almost exclusively of Middle Eastern descent. So which is it? Do they all love us, or was it likely that some of them weren't really protesting Western hypocrisy?

I honestly don't see why any on the left care about the refugees (men, women or children), if they die they die right? Abortion is your onus.

You realize this a patently absurd distinction, right? I'm ok with you using it, I just want to make sure you are intellectually honest.

I am suppose to appease you? Ha, good luck.

Are you saying that those that support abortion are actually pro-life? Or are they picking and choosing who should live? If the latter who laid that divine power upon them?

London has some borderline Muslims to be sure, they have a large group who is sympathetic to the terrorist cause, stopping short of threatening to act themselves. I assume the OP's article is mostly accurate, but its believable to Londoners, and that's why outrage isn't hard to stir up there.

If you've learned nothing else today, I'm glad you've learned that.

Mostly what we've learned today is how cowardly the American right has become, and how shallowly they believe in American values despite their blustery proclamations of patriotism. They're ready to toss the constitution aside as well as everything America has stood for over the minuscule chance that a lone terrorist might somehow slip into the country among a flood of needy refugees seeking a chance at a new life in America.
