Fattest states in the country

In your dreams. You can’t accept that it’s your MAGA cult that’s fat.
Gym culture is right wing culture. Running culture is left wing. Neither party has a monopoly on stupidity or obesity but leftists do seem to have a discreet edge when it comes to being weak.

So why are you defending tax payers paying for ozempic then? Are you a fat liberal? We already know liberals only care about themselves so it makes sense.

You really struggle to put forth a cognizant or well thought out argument. You probably should think about that before posting anything.

I was replying to someone saying maga was fat yet it seems to me like most republicans on here think fatties should pay for their own drugs. Something doesn’t add up.
You should probably take note.

Have you been to rural Iowa? I’d say 1/2 of these people are on Ozempic. Those that go to the doctor anyways.
I grew up in rural Iowa and live in a different rural Iowa town 2 hours from where I grew up. I would have to say you are 100% full of shit and you should stop spreading lies.

Dems looking for any possible win they can find is so laughable right now. Yes, lots of fatties in the country. Many posting on here daily (mostly leftists)
You wouldn’t know a true leftist if they were sitting across the table from you unless you knew Che and Fidel.

There are few leftists these days, but you call everyone who isn’t MAGA a leftist or a democrat.

MAGA. Your reading skills are slipping.

I grew up in a rural town, am back frequently since the TC isn't far from North Iowa where I have an acreage and there are a ton of fatties there. I went pheasant hunting last weekend and my cousin has to be 275#. These people do absolutely nothing in the winter months. I have an uncle and a couple cousins on weight loss medication. My uncle is on medicare and his Ozempic is covered. Most his his weight gain was booze related...something Iowa is known for. My wife is from western Iowa and she's always shocked at how much bigger her relatives get when she goes back to visit. My gf can't get over the number of obese people when I bring her down either.

I shudder to think at the numbers in the southern and western parts of the state, where the life expectancy rates are lower and obesity rates are higher. It's no coincidence that the more educated areas of Story and Johnson Counties have a higher life expectancy than the rest of the state. These people also tend to stay more active year around as well.

Do you even Google?

African American women have the highest rates of obesity or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States. About 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight or obese. In 2018, non-Hispanic blacks were 1.3 times more likely to be obese as compared to non-Hispanic whites.

OR

In 2022, Black adults had the highest obesity rates of any race or ethnicity in the United States, followed by American Indians/Alaska Natives and Hispanics. As of that time, around 44 percent of all Black adults were obese. Asians/Pacific Islanders had by far the lowest obesity rates.
Yeah, I’m sure that’s tipping the scales (pun intended) in West Virginia, Iowa, etc. Thanks for your input, Mr. Duke!

File this thread under HROt will find anything political to argue about. Even an article on state by state obesity rates from 2013……..

I mean, there has to be something from the last 5 years to argue about, right?

Sounds to me like you have a lot of lazy, fat family members. Not sure how that equates to rural Iowa being fat. If anything, sounds like you need to say rural southern and western Iowa fat because I’m from northern rural Iowa and live in eastern rural Iowa and I see more fatties in bigger cities.
Keep trying and maybe you will get it right eventually.

Every family has lazy, fat members but I think you're struggling with the fact that the data is clearly there but you refuse to accept that. The numbers support my position but not yours, simple as that. Look below, two counties are university towns, with a large number of younger people and Dubuque/Winneshiek both have colleges but there's generally a bit to do when it comes to physical activity in both. I have no explanation for Webster, but good on them.

What counties have the lowest obesity percentage?

  • Story: 33%
  • Dubuque: 33%
  • Johnson: 33%
  • Winneshiek: 34%
  • Webster: 34%
What counties have the highest obesity percentage?

  • Clarke: 43%
  • Tama: 43%
  • Jones: 43%
  • Page: 43%
  • Cherokee: 43%

You proved my point for me. The rural area I’m from is on the list for counties with the lowest obesity and the county I currently live in is not on either list.
Like I said. Keep trying. You’ll get there.

What point is that? Are you arguing that Iowa (especially rural Iowa) does not have an obesity problem? The numbers are right there.

Here's another one for you to try and disprove:

All your lists have proven are that some areas of rural Iowa consist of fatties and some rural Iowa areas don’t consist of fatties.
It’s almost like some fatties exist in the world and others aren’t fatties.

And that explains Iowa being in the top 10 fatest, how?
It doesn't explain Iowa slobs.

It does explain how southern states with disproportionate black populations are all over the top of that list.

If someone tried to suggest the 'MAGA base' was why 6 of the top 8 states producing NFL talent are in the south, I'd think they were off base for the same reason.

Go ahead and think fat, black women are the 'MAGA base' if you want, but that's dumb.

There are a disproportionate number of fat whites in the South too. I lived in the Carolinas and was always shocked at the stark contrast in the number of fats down there, but in recent years, Iowa certainly has joined the ranks.

Definitely a personal issue. 100% choices and behavior causes it. I'm not disputing that in any way shape or form. However, it is a LOT easier to be fat in America than other countries. It is pretty disgusting what companies put in our food that they are not allowed to elsewhere.

There are youtube videos where these guys go to Canada and buy food like cereal and then buy the same food in the US. It's downright disturbing the difference and I'd bet 90% of the populace has no idea.

its better if you throw it in the fridge and reheat it in the oven the next day. The crust actually isn't soggy then.
Only a matter of time before this post devolved into another argument over which Iowa gas station produces the best pizza pie.
