There is certainly some “new wave” I enjoy, like Blondie, Missing Persons, Talking Heads post-81 albums, and The Cars first album. But mostly I find myself gravitating towards the more non-commercial direction of post-punk. Bands I’ve been into since my post have been The Teardrop Explodes, Gang of Four, The Au Pairs, The Monochrome Set, Iggy’s Glen Matlock era of 79-84, and The Effigies out of Chicago. Speaking of Chicago, Can’t remember if I posted it here, but I am really geeked to go to drummer Martin Atkins’ (PiL, Ministry, NIN in all those bands’ best years) new Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music in Chicago this Spring or Summer.Recently I have been more into new wave, indie rock, and chill wave.
Hard pass until the last sentence. I listen to a lot of reggae but as I have said many times, my favorite thing about music is that all different genres appeal to different people.EDM:
