I was just curious what everyone's favorite Iowa uniform was. Post a picture if you can find. There are some I am sure we have forgotten.

Also does anybody have the logo from the late 90's I believe that had a IOWA spelled with a basketball as the "O?" I could not find that logo.

These are nice but they needed to fix the size of the arm holes and neckline. I remember Dev Marble wearing it and those holes were too big.

I'd like to see Iowa put the American Flag on the uniform. We honor the country by playing the National Anthem before each game, they honor a vet at halftime....Let's honor the country by putting the flag on the uniform.

Couldn't disagree more, but could be persuaded into the Iowa flag.

I really like the idea of having a flag on our uniforms, but it could be viewed as a sign of disrespect as well. The US Flag Code written in 1923 which was adopted in post WW2 states: “No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform.”

I don't believe this logo was ever on a uniform, only warmups. It would be hard to do it. Probably have to put the logo in like the upper left corner and the number in the lower right.

That is the logo. Can anyone find the full version, not cut off on the bottom. I don't expect it on a jersey, but that logo does bring back memories.

The point of this is that you shouldn't take an existing flag and cut or style it to make clothing out of. It isn't meant to prevent you from using an image of a fully intact flag on clothing. It also doesn't preclude you from using stars and stripes in red/white/blue on clothing as long as those stars and stripes didn't get cut out of an existing flag.

It boils down to wanting to prevent people from altering existing flags for any purpose other than retiring them.

As for the favorite jersey question. The script Iowa is my favorite. I think it would be amazing to go back to that full time. Yes it looks old, but at the same time it looks classic. When we wore them for that one game a few years ago they looked great on TV.

Love the black away jerseys. Wish we would wear them at home sometimes.

The code has been interpreted both ways, the way to have described by altering flags, but it has also been interpreted to mean not using the flag at all on consumer clothing or athletic uniforms. You are correct that nothing actually precludes you from using the U.S. Flag on any article of clothing or uniform in this case. Heck nothing actually precludes you from taking an existing flag and altering into clothing. This is because the code is not an actual law that can be enforced. From an ethics standpoint, many high school, college, and pro teams have struggled whether or not it's acceptable to put a flag on a uniform. Personally, I'm in favor of it. I think that anytime we can use the flag to commemorate those who fought for our freedoms we should. However, there are some, veterans included, who feel you shouldn't wear the flag unless you are an Olympian or serving your country.

As far as Iowa uniforms go, I like the old Iowa script one too. In my opinion they are classic but not really a throwback.

The best all time is the cursive Iowa logo. That should be slightly modernized and permanently adopted on all colors. A white jersey with the cursive Iowa in Gold and Black would be killer.

If I was Fran I would order these throwbacks one game a year just for laughs.

We could be like Oregon football, but instead of a unique combination for every game, it would be a unique combination for every player. Brilliant!

Reminds me of the JV team at my high school - had to raid several old, incomplete uni sets to get the whole team outfitted.

The more I see it the more I like these.
FWIW, I'm a designer. These (the jersey worn by Woolridge) and the old script are, in my opinion, by far the most timeless. The Andre Woolridge example is a little more unique with the asymmetrical design, but it still stands the test of time. The script jersey is just flat out awesome.

Timelessness, in my opinion, is the fundamental standard for a good jersey design.

Why doesn't anyone remember when there was an "I" down the sides of the pants. Those unis went to the final four twice.Pants are longer now but it still could be done.

Could be added to the "blank" side (left hip) of the Woolridge design.

Something interesting about Miller. When he came to Iowa from Wichita he had the unis designed to looked like Wichita's, at least the pants. He must have liked that design.
