Everyone I knew grew up watching professional wrestling (I was an 80’s baby) so it really hit it pinnacle in my opinion in the early and mid 90’s.

The “Monday Night Wars” between WCW and the WWF were epic.

Pro Wrestling is "fixed". It is determined before the
match starts who will be the winner. So all the grunts
and groans are fake as the hero defeats the villain.
I am surprised that a man such as Swag is into this.
There has been pro wrestling since the 1950's and it
was always fixed and fake.

You know we all know this, right? ...also, I'd go with fixed more so than fake. People literally have died while performing this sport and have sustained life altering injuries.

I thought it was cool when I was 8. I find it sad that adults like it today.

That being said.....

It’s no worst than a scripted television show. We are all in on it and it doesn’t matter that it is scripted. They’re still awesome athletes and the stories might be corny but they can be a lot of fun.

Haven’t watched in 20+ years, but I loved it growing up and even for a time when I was 20 ish when WCW dethroned WWE. The angle they came up with whereby the NWO “took over” WCW as Sting went MIA before emerging as “Crow Sting” to save the day may be the greatest storyline in pro wrestling history.

Favorite All-Time Wrestler: Hulk Hogan
Favorite Personality: Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Favorite Era: NWO vs “Crow” Sting and WCW
Favorite Match: Andre vs Hogan in WM3

Well when I was 7-13, I’m not sure I cared whether it was fake or not. It was entertainment. My siblings and I would perform the various finishing moves on each other, lucky we didn’t kill someone.

I'd bet the grunts and groans are not all fake. It's fixed but it still would be extremely taxing.

I used to love Brutus the Barber and Demolition. I saw Demolition bet the Brain Busters in the Sioux City Auditorium circa 1987 as a 9 year old or so. It was awesome.

As far as tag teams go...The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom were fun to watch.

Used to love watching them back in the early 80's on WTBS/TBS..Either on the early Sat morning show or the show they put on later in the afternoon...when you heard the opening sounds of "Iron Man" play...you knew in about 45 seconds some turds like the Mulkey's were gonna get destroyed by a powerslam by "Animal" and an off the top clothesline/shoulderblock by "Hawk"..

I’m also from Sioux City, I remember a story that after the show apparently the Outlaws or Billy and Bart Gunn apparently got wasted and threw a cinder block through either the window of a car or a store front window. Unfortunately for them, the police station is also downtown. I heard they spent the night in jail.

This was the only WWF “star” that showed up to the Jehova-Dome in 1997.

I remember when ABC reporter John Stossel told a professional wrestler it was fake. It didn't go very well for Stossel.
