Wow! Pretty darn fast.

1. Are you confident they will have done a thorough investigation?

2. If they could do a thorough investigation this fast, why were the Rs constantly refusing to do it and saying it was a delay tactic?

3. Obviously if they found any smoking guns, K is toast. But what if they didn't? Will there be calls for a more complete investigation? Remember that originally the Rs in Congress put limits on what they could look at; and the WH restricted the inquiry even more. The WH later relented - or did they?

At this point I think the report needs something big against Ford for Kav to get confirmed. It will have to be something big enough for Flake to change his vote from a no to yes and take Collins and Murkowski off the fence.

Is this guy a moron? Does he think this has anything to do with Kavanaugh and nothing to do with the fact that the Dems are trying to stall in order to get to midterms. The next nominee would go through just as bad or worse.

Remember...Mitt Romney was the most dangerous candidate in history according to all of these same idiots.
Mitt Romney? It's like you're not even trying anymore in your posts.

If the scope was not limited by the WH, and the FBI finished it on their own timeline (did not curtail it due to time limitations), we should have confidence in their final product.

If either of those conditions is not correct, then there will be concerns over the credibility of the output. Chris Wray should issue a statement on this (and if he misrepresents it, he is likewise aware that any future administration or Congressional committee can fry him for it) to clarify.

I strongly doubt there will be a bombshell peace of information that clearly paints his guilt or clearly exonorates him.

So where in russia are you from? Gorsuch got through with no problem. Kavanaugh is a piece of shit without his alleged despicable high school and college behavior. There is no way he is ever going to be impartial, so why would they not try to protect us from a shitty judge. And by the way, remember who shit on Merrick Garland's nomination.

Everyone has already made up their mind about whether to confirm or not. What is in the FBI report will not make one bit of difference.

Yeah...Garland was screwed over by the GOP. Gorsuch replaced Scalia. This next nominee tilts the court even more. This is the stall and wait for midterms tactic.

As for Kavanaugh being a bad judge, seems like every person who knew him before the nomination process said he was a great judge. The next nomination goes through the same exact thing. Guaranteed.

So . . . your argument is that since the Dems want to stall, therefore we should approve this turd?

Explain how that makes sense.

Or are you perhaps saying that the GOP and Trump can't find a decent candidate who fits their philosophy? Not one decent R judge, anywhere in America?

If that's what you are saying, you may be onto something.

This is EXACTLY why the R's should just move on from Kavanaugh and find another person to nominate.

Should the D's try this stunt again, it will be very obvious to the American public what's going on. Instead, the current optics are that the R's are trying to ram this guy through when many doubt his answers to the questions (drinking, Devil's triangle, etc) and saw how he conducted himself. If the R's push this through, they really don't get anything out of it and arguably lose out. If the R's pick a different conservative judge they likely get their judge and if they don't, they have some serious currency to use in the mid-terms.

For the umpteenth time, what's wrong with that tactic?

The Rs can easily defeat that tactic. They can ram through this turd - which seems to be what you want and what they will do. Or they can nominate someone better.

And a delay isn't even slightly a problem if the Rs just win the elections.

What you and the Rs are arguing is that the Rs have lost the nation's confidence and will lose the elections. Knowing that, this discredited party should have the right to inflict additional harm on the nation by appointing a turd to a lifetime appointment on the highest court.

Explain how that makes sense.

You supported the McConnell rule. The Dems are following it. You have no ground to stand on.

Imagine what the fight will be like if the liberal seat becomes available next year and the GOP controls the senate still.

“Let the FBI do their job and investigate”

FBI investigates

“The FBI didn’t do their job”

Do I have this right?

“The president pulled Judge Kavanaugh’s name from a pre-approved list concocted by radical, far-right special interests that are committed to undermining a woman’s right to choose, health care protections, safeguards for workers and seniors, LGBTQ rights, and a host of other critical public protections that touch the lives of every New Mexican and every American,” explains Senator Tom Udall (D-NM). “These extreme groups put Judge Kavanaugh’s name on their list for a reason.”

As for Kavanaugh being a bad judge, seems like every person who knew him before the nomination process said he was a great judge.

Except, they didn't.

The GOP tried some pre-emptive propaganda, which backfired, and many who were on their "lists" have since recanted their alleged "support".

You brought up Mitt Romney in a Senate judiciary thread. Not only is Mitt not a judge, he isn't even a Senator. Clearly your post smacks of effort.

I used him to point to how the Dems treated him (like he was the Devil) as proof that they will go to any measure to paint the opposition as evil incarnate (even if they aren't) to prevent them from getting elected or appointed to a position the Dems really really want to win.

You not understanding this is not shocking in the least bit.

I’m just ready for this to be over! I hate not being able to watch the news anymore. It’s sad I’m watching more Cartoon Network than anything else. Every show/broadcast has to be political these days. Damn miss the old days when no one cared and everyone got a long.

Now if you have an opinion it’s upsets someone and low behold a arguement breaks out. I’ve actually stopped talking to family members because they try and bring up politics. I don’t have time or the energy to waste on a worthless topic like that.

Ahhh poop is over, now back to work!

You keep saying someone better, someone better... guess what, no one gaf about your definition of someone better, nor do you get to decide who that "someone better" is.

Better - someone who will not bring dishonor to the office. You know, like what Trump is doing to the office of the President. Why can't we just find people who are good at their jobs and decent human beings as well? Why do we have to choose angry (drunk) political operatives for positions that are suppose to be above that?

He's not Trump. Far from it.
And by all accounts he's a fine human being.
A couple random stories of excessive high school and college drinking doesn't make someone a bad human being much less a drunk. Good grief.

Not by ALL accounts. That's the point. By some accounts he is, and by some accounts he's not. Hell, the ABA doesn't even support him at this point.
He was a bad choice from day 1 unless your goal was to politicize the SC. He proved that with his rant last week. A rant that 2015 Kavanaugh would argue proves that he's unworthy of the job.

Actually it is just a sh*tty comparison altogether, that is the problem. I don't keep track of which HROTers say what, but I am guessing you are the one that continues to bring up Mitt Romney in these threads (you know, the threads that have absolutely nothing to do with Mitt Romney).

By some accounts he drank too much on occasion in college.
You didnt like his statement bc you dont like him.
Nothing he said or did was "extreme" or "outrage" as some have stated.
It's funny though now people are realizing the whole accusation was likely bs and it's now about his reactions to it.

For a SCOTUS nominee, he went was way out of line. Sounded more like a Trump campaign chairman (or 'coffee boy' as Trump likes to call them).

I don't think the report comes out today. Sounds like lots of people haven't been questioned yet.
