Ferrari vs. Starocci

It wasn't decided by a stall call.

Congrats to Angelo though. He has a great future.
Correct. CStar won that match 2-1 on a riding time point. The first stall was quick, but I can live with it. The second stall was garbage and that isn't debatable. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be a rematch. Angelo seems to be pretty good at wrestling.

His were 100% justified. He was doing anything he could to keep bonus points off the board.
He turned into him on his base.
???
That's stalling? That was the call that ended the match.
Pretty sure one might make that move trying to get a reversal??
Little leniency might be in order too when boots are in with an armbar on a parallel ride. Lol
Little bit hard to gtf up.
I really am out. Have a good night guys.

You might go and rewind and review the stall calls. Many were justified against Iowa. However Ferrari’s match should not have been decided by a stall call.
If a wrestler sprawls straight back while on or close to the boundary taking himself out of bounds, this ref is always going to call stalling, regardless of what the action was on the mat 20-30 seconds prior.

You don’t think Angelo would have attempted to ride for an additional 10 seconds in the 3rd to erase the RT if it would have tied the match? That stall point gave him no motivation to try and erase the RT, because he needed a td. Strong chance they go to OT if not for that ridiculous second stall call.

like 1stplace said, it completely changed the strategy for ferrari so yes it did decide the match.

the thing that bother me most with the 2nd stall call was that both wrestlers never even went out of bounds. Angelo went out of bounds but Carter didn’t. he hit Angelo with a stalling before he even got a chance to work back in. there was no need to call anything because the action didn’t stop. unless of course it was a regular stalling call and not a backing out stalling call which would be worse because Angelo was very active with leg attacks the whole 1st period. it was an atrocious call.

look, starocci might have still won because that’s what he does but this isn’t one of those situations where iowa fans are being over the top with officiating complaints.
