Final AP Poll

I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking 10-12, so to be inside the top ten is still a hell of a season, even with that sour taste from a couple of weeks ago.
 
Yes, a top 10 finish when most people thought it was the end of the KF era last year. Good showing and will be ranked to start the year next year. Could be a lot of hype to deal with
 
Big Ten with four in the top 12, six in the top 25. SEC has two in the top 12.

Never thought Iowa would be top ten after that Rose Bowl fiasco and all the hate throughout the season. The vote totals show it was really close for spots 9, 10, and 11.

The top four seem correct, and probably should have been the four in the playoffs. Stanford and Ohio State instead of MSU and Oklahoma may have given us a different national champion.

Yeah but it's time for Iowa to stop not f***ing dealing with the hype.
 
I'd drop TCU to 9 and move up Houston and Iowa 1 spot each
Drop Ole Miss to 12 and move up ND and Mich 1 spot each

It looks like a couple weeks distance from that Rose Bowl thrashing has done wonders for healing. Ole Miss would beat us like a drum. This is not a shot at anybody but watching that game last night (speed and physicality) I couldn't imagine a scenario where would beat Alabama, which Ole Miss did on the road. No. 9 seems more than fair for the year, next year maybe we have a team that can legitimately threaten for the title.

Ole Miss got drubbed by Memphis and Florida. They gave up 38 points to a Florida team that didn't have a pulse on offense. They have talent but they are beatable. If Iowa plays well they can play with anyone. The Iowa team that came out in the Rose Bowl wasn't the same Iowa team that we saw most of the season. If Iowa played Bama and Bama turned it over 5 times, I would like Iowa's chances in that game too.

Agree. That is a terrific Final result for Theeeee IOWA HAWKEYES.

Find me one Talking schumuck, like Colon Coward, or another of his ilk, who predicted
IOWA to be in Top 25, let alone Top 10.

I don't know, we got 4 turnovers against Nebaska and Wisconsin and had our own turnover negated by penalty in both games and still barely won. Those teams aren't in Bama's class. Of course we could beat them if we played our usual clean game and they were a mess. I shouldn't say never, you're right there.
 
I didn't look it up but I am guessing a Top Ten finish nets KF a little more money and if so, I say well deserved. There was no way I saw this team winning 12 games and even though the ending was a letdown, it was a hell of a year to be an Iowa football fan!

Agree. The only team that could have beaten Alabama in the playoffs this year was sitting in Columbus, Ohio.

This. And what a GREAT year by Iowa. Still seems weird after a perfect 12-0 regular season that this is only Ferentz's 5th highest rated team.
