Many Americans doubt Donald Trump will be able to lower prices in his first year, an AP-NORC poll shows

This. Inflation has cooled, but now prices are what they are. Producers have no reason to bring them down because they’re all in it together making billions upon billions.

The only way to fix it would be to break up the monopolies and inject some legit competition.
I have said this forever. Prices continually go up. They have my entire life. The first time gas prices went way up, under W. Bush, prices on food and other goods skyrocketed. When gas prices went down, restaurants, for example, didn't drop their prices back down. People act like rising prices is a new thing. Companies are going to take advantage of every situation in order to make more money.

So the president has control over such things or not? Let's get it on the record and we can compare to what you all said the last 4 years.
No. You guys pick the lane and we can all stay in it. This is the stuff that goes over your head. Republicans on here are SERIOUS when they blame Biden for high prices on gas and other goods. When we libs say anything about the costs of eggs, we are CLEARLY throwing the BS back in your faces. This is just one more thing that board Republicans haven't figured out. I have been on this board for over 23 years and the only time most of this stuff is a concern for Republicans is when a Democrat is in the White House.

It's hilarious, and sad, how quickly you all switch your positions, SERIOUSLY, depending on who has power. You guys won't say one damn word about food prices the next 4 years. You won't say one damn thing about the border the next 4 years, just like you didn't when there were 900,000 border encounters in 2019. You guys don't fool any of us.

Yep. The greedy part of most business people says to keep raising prices to see how high you can push them before enough is enough. Then claim it’s because of inflation or production costs or shipping costs or the cost of goods or trickle downs or whatever you want to blame it on. Then when these things all ease, and you see how fat your profits are and that consumers aren’t really complaining about high prices anymore because they’re used to them, are you all of a sudden going to turn into a nice guy and lower prices out of the goodness of your heart? Not likely. It sucks, but not likely.

"CLEARLY" Lol

You guys sway which ever way the wind blows. Everything bad is Rs fault. Everything good is Ds. We'll see what the president gets blamed for on this board for the next 4 years. I guarantee it won't be just throwing bs.

Thank you for making my point. I had confidence you would pull it off.
