Finebaum: "I think Iowa is going to be outclassed across the board."

Tom Arnold was just on his show. Pretty good actually. Tom said that Paul has given hope to many who want to be on TV and think they have to be a male model. Finebaum even had a good laugh on that.

LOVE IT! is there a link to this?

To get a true picture of a team, you need to see them up close and personal. Evan coaches game tapes don't tell the whole picture. I doubt if Paul has even stepped foot inside legendary Kinnick Stadium. Heck he probably has only viewed the highlights on ESPN..

To finebaums point, does iowa have any unit you can confidently say is superior? Totally winnable game, but iowa will either need luck or their best of the year.

Million dollar question, what are the odds that Finebaum can be outdouched? Or is Cowherd doing a reasonable job of that? I don't listen to either.

I don't get mad. I almost chuckle.

A few weeks ago I was pissed about Finebaum, but the more I see him the more I find myself amused. He's just so convinced that Iowa is a fraud in every respect. I don't know why, but I love it and not even because it'll make Saturday's win so much sweeter. Well, a little of that, but he just makes me laugh when I hear him talk. He doesn't actually say anything, analyze anything. The only thing he goes to are four- and five-star recruits and his idea that Iowa is outmatched by every other top ten team in EVERY phase of the game. It's bizarre, really. It's just based on his assessment of athleticism -- as if technique, positioning, anticipation, scheme, consistency, fundamentals, play calling, etc., have no impact whatsoever on the games (besides not noticing that Iowa has more athleticism and speed than he's giving them credit for). Still, I just find him funny.

I actually find him funny. He's just an SEC Homer who is trying to get some face time, since the SEC is sucking so bad (which he admits). Last week when they brought him on an ESPN show, the first thing they did was read him a tweet from Tom Arnold, which was "Every time Iowa wins, Paul Finebaum's ears get bigger". Finebaum laughed, and replied "Not to bring up the 90's, but he was married to Rozanne Barr".

The last game against Penn State is pretty much the only time MSU has outclassed their opponent all year.

The Herky makes his wings look even bigger. If that's possible.

I would say that it is Iowa who is superior in every position group, except D-line and WR. Iowa is a clearly better in the secondary and at RB. I would also give a slight edge at LB, OL and TE. With QB, snap judgment is to say MSU has the edge because there is no doubt Cook is a better NFL prospect. But this isn't the NFL. and CJ is a great decision maker and playmaker who is a proven winner so I would still give the very narrow edge to the Hawks there as well.

Honestly these are 2 very similar teams with very similar ability. It is really a coin flip of a game if both teams give their best efforts. The reason MSU is getting 3-4 point in vegas and most of the talking head support around the country is purely based on the 'been there, done that' factor, since MSU has proven it can win the big game, including the B1G championship in recent years.

I wish we could get just one more Finebaum thread going. I'll admit, the "every time Iowa wins, Finebaums ears get bigger" was pretty funny...but this guy is the ultimate douche and SEC homer.

ESPNU has a segment called "Little Experts" or something like that with 3-10 year olds making predictions. They totally outclass Finkbaum in their college football knowledge.

Offensive line, special teams, defensive backfield, either tight end, any of 3 running backs, arguably linebackers. And coach of the year. Aside from wide receivers what position could you confidently say Michigan State is superior?

Luck may be involved, but Iowa doesn't need it's "best of the year." Michigan State isn't a dominant team that we'll be lucky to defeat. As long as we don't bring our worst of the year we'll be in this game, and I'd argue that we should be favored (not that it matters).

That is a southern view of football, that the athletically superior team will win, period. I live in Florida and see it at all levels, the more athletic player is considered better. They may be better athletes, but not necessarily better football players. Iowa has a team of fundamentally solid football players. I love your Linebacker play. Iowa just needs to play their game and every player do their job. No luck, best of the year or MSU beating it self needed. If everyone does their job, Iowa will win this game. Just one persons opinion...

What is the deal with those ears. No way he takes a back seat to dumbo.

Sometimes I wonder how some of these talking heads get into jobs they hold.
