Always watched and cheered every year, but deep down I always knew it'd be same old story. Its funny, every tournament post game interview players talk about defense, rebounding, hustle... its never we're just gonna outscore them, defense is optional... boggles the mind that that never got through Fran's thick skull. oh well, time to turn the page. who knows if BM is the answer but for the first time in a long time I'm excited!

I've been checked out for the most part for the last 2 seasons.
Now I'm ready to pay attention again because it looks like there will be something worth paying attention to.
I expect to see a completely different team on the floor, stylistically and personnel.

Last time I was excited for an upcoming season was Garza's senior year, when the team was expected to be Top 10'ish preseason. But that season ended in disappointment against Oregon. I had low expectations going into the next season, but Keegan blossomed far more than I expected, and they rode him to the Big 10 Tournament title. Then.. Richmond. There's been little excitement for me since then.
I'm not sure my expectations for NEXT year are very high.. Ben isn't inheriting very much, so we'll see what he can do via the portal and maybe convincing some players to stay... But either way, I AM excited for the future. I think this was a home run hire.

Watching players and a team do very tough defense and rebounding is great to watch.
Yes, you have to score more than the other team to win but 2/3s of the game is defense and rebounding. Bad Math by Fran.
I expect to see Iowa scoring in the 60's to 70's but holding opponents down and I hope we get to winning 22 games by next year. Maybe more, if Sturtz transfers you have an all american at guard and I would think he would transfer to show what he can do game in and game out against the Big 10.

I'd been checked out since Connor came aboard. I have great seats that I've been holding onto hoping for a change for several years. I'm sure those near the bench will enjoy taking their young kids there without hearing fran screaming F*** half the game.
He won at an 80% clip at NWMS. He won 89% of his games at Drake. So, I’m expecting something in the low 90% next year. I want to be reasonable.
