Flo has their Olympic credentials pulled by USOC

That's not good. Gotta pay to play
Does this have anything to do with their report on only 1 testing facility on Brazil? Hmm.

My take on the Flo response is that they consider themselves part of the interwebz and that, rather than pay for the content they're airing (even though they're expecting Joe Public to pay them), they should be able to broadcast what they want 'to help grow the sport' [ my words ].

I enjoyed the wall-to-wall streaming of the wrestling trials. If that was one of the infractions, and something they were not allowed to do, then I wouldn't characterize it as a small infraction. That was a ton of content.

There was no way they were going to be able to broadcast the Olympics in the first place. They simply lost their media credentials because they posted Olympic Trial matches that they don't own on their site. This just means they wont have access to the athletes for interviews during the Olympics.

"The business website said the USOC was denying credentials to the sports media organization for allegedly posting video footage of several Olympics trials events, including the 2016 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials held in Iowa City in April."

That might be part of the problem. They were working with NBC Sports if memory serves to stream the Trials, but I am sure they were told that they wouldn't own the content. This looks like a case of Flo posting matches they didn't own the rights to.

Here is an article from USA wrestling saying NBC sports was providing video coverage of the Trials.

Better keep this thread calm! Hate to see this place called a dumpster fire again by a garden gnome!

I do think it's BS. Lets take the number one media outlet for our sport out of the game? I'm sure the NFL will do the same to ESPN without warning.

*also I'm sure there's two sides to the story*

Can't wait to hear FloRadio on this topic.

You think it's BS that a media company that paid money to buy the broadcast rights to and event, and who produced those broadcasts at their own expense don't just let anyone who wants to put it on their own website and charge their customers to watch, without paying the original rights-holder? Curious.

Nah. I understand your point and like I said there's two sides to every story. I'm curious to see if warnings were made and more importantly why isn't there more collaboration to increase the awareness of this great sport. Cut off the nose despite the face.

Didn't Martin already make a statement that the USOC's claims were false and the USOC just "doesn't get it "(paraphrasing the last part). That doesn't sound like someone who is going to come out and give us the honest story. I just doubt that Willie and CP are truly going to give it to us straight IF they comment on FRL.

Yesterday at Copacabana Beach, where the beach volleyball competition will take place, human body parts washed ashore. What a disaster.

When NBC airs beach volleyball, they will probably have the cameras panned on the ocean, just to see what washes up on the beach. All the filth in Rio will unfortunately be the story of the games.

that's what they call a true twofer. You get to watch bikini babes bouncing around and a train wreck all at the same time.

Read the NY times article, linked above. The Vball stadium is being used as a hidden cove to mug tourists.
USOC needs to up their ammo budget.

Well said.

Those are youtube videos. Youtube is a video sharing site. They were put up on Youtube so they could be shared.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Had nothing to do with the USOC issue.

CP situation sucks. I don't like that Flo is being punished for trying to grow the sport. I'm from Chicago(# 1 croked city in US)so to me this seems like a classic case of someone high up in the USOC with a hurt butt because he didn't get his palm greased and is trying to set an example. You guys do a great job, keep it up.

1) Unfortunately, you can't. USOC didn't upload them all. 2) I'm really explaining how Youtube works, in 2016.

No need to get bitchy, we are on your side. But the article said that footage was posted on your site, which happens to be a pay site. However, it's not behind the pay wall so I don't understand why they have a problem. Perhaps you should use the original YouTube link because just eyeballing it, looks like a Flo original.

...it is the original youtube link. When you click it, it goes here:

When you upload a youtube video, you can choose to have the embed function enabled or disabled. Obviously, these were enabled.

Example: Click "Share" on this video:

It says: "Embedding disabled by request" so it's impossible to embed this video. They don't want you to.

Now try this one. Click "Share" on this video:

It gives you this code: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FdSQsfqgNOU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Meaning they WANT you to embed it.

EDIT: See how the top one is blacked out, and says it can't be viewed? See how the bottom one shows up nice and neat? All I did was copy the link. Youtube and the owner of the video WANT this to happen.
