Flooring?

Retailers are all the same generic stuff. Lowes generally has the most variety. Shitty vinyl plank will break apart really easy because they have flimsy grooves. Most I've done has been fine though. There have been a couple times I got a box in and refused to continue to job with it. If they've got sample squares grab one and literally try bending the grooves and see if it has some play or if it breaks. As long as it's not complete trash it's all kind of the same.

There’s a thing called expansion that lvt needs. Base board on top of floor only, looks tacky as ****. Put a shoe trim down to transition
OMG no. LVP = luxury vinyl plank. lvt = ??. Expansion is slight but would be length not height. You have 1/2 drywall and 1/2 baseboard. You run the plank about to the drywall so it could move 1/2" to the framing. Drop the base right on top the flooring. Go find me one new luxury or even construction grade track home that has a bunch of shoe transition to base and I'll buy you an ice cold Grain Belt...

If you have a floor&decor near you I suggest going there. Better than all the box stores and you will be surprised how competitive they are on prices
I haven't heard of floor&decor, but we used a mom and pop carpet and flooring place in a small town most people have never heard of. Prices were almost identical with way better selection. They had top notch installation service too if you're not diy. Those places are worth checking out vs the big box stores.

The home I just finished working on just south of 168th and center in Omaha, the gated neighborhood that backs up to lake zorinsky has plenty of shoe in the home. It sold for 885K. Not sure if that price range is luxury enough for you🤷🏽‍♂️If you want I can give you more examples. I apologize for mistyping earlier on the lvt (lvp)

Apology accepted. I thought maybe LVT was some new kind of tile. I suppose that would be luxury for Nebraska. I’ve just only seen shoe in outdated 60s homes And handyman remodels.

I think its personal style. I put it in on my last house and it looked good (70s build). But, it's a bit more of a PITA to keep clean. It did allow for bigger gaps during install and expansion. My current place (built in 2016), boards right up under the molding. Based on my current place, Im a convert, no shoe /qtr for me.
