Florida now has America's lowest COVID rate. Does Ron DeSantis deserve credit?
The U.S. state with the fewest daily COVID-19 cases per capita is the same one that recently had more than any other: Florida.
I’m not going with the politicizing of the virus, but wouldn’t it make sense that after having a bunch of cases they would eventually slow down?![]()

That's essentially what the article says. Obvious the OP just saw the headline.I’m not going with the politicizing of the virus, but wouldn’t it make sense that after having a bunch of cases they would eventually slow down?
He deserves credit for both or neither. That's what he deserves credit for.
For starting the fire and just letting it burn itself out killing thousands while it burned? Okay, I will go along with that.He deserves credit for both or neither.
The covid #s.For starting the fire and just letting it burn itself out killing thousands while it burned? Okay, I will go along with that.
You are hysterical. You belong to a party who can't get a statewide candidate elected, you post in a thread about DeSantis (which you can't resist doing) and the fear you expose is something to see.For starting the fire and just letting it burn itself out killing thousands while it burned? I post the truth about our governor which you can't deny. You can ignore the truth as usual to support your party. You are hysterical. You belong to a party who can't get a statewide candidate elected, you post in a thread about DeSantis (which you can't resist doing) and the fear you expose is something to see.
Or the next variant or the next wave.Wait two weeks.
Note how you can’t refute my point. And yes, you live in a very red county and congressional district.I post the truth about our governor which you can't deny. You can ignore the truth as usual to support your party.
I'm shocked you didn't mention where I currently live. That must be coming in the response to this.
The unvaccinated are not at an increased risk of being hospitalized and/or dying. The vaccinated are at a decreased risk. The risk doesn’t increase just because the vaccine is available.Or the next variant or the next wave.
The vaccine has been available to most residents. Those that choose not to get it are at an increased risk of being hospitalized and/or dying.
Unless you are going to have a government enforcement system to go door to door at gun point and either force the shot or put everyone against in jail until they get it or killing them. Then they need to just get it and either die or get natural immunity.
Hospitals need to put a priority for treating covid when capacity and resources are an issue of the vaxxed have higher priority than the unvaxxed.
Word it however you wish. The unvaccinated are not at an increased risk of being hospitalized and/or dying. The vaccinated are at a decreased risk. The risk doesn’t increase just because the vaccine is available.
Sorry just went full chis and Riley.Word it however you wish.
What about other states? Is there ANYONE in Florida who hasn't had covid yet? Good lord, of course the case rate is dropping. The virus is running out of bodies down there.
If I’ve had it, it was thankfully asymptomatic. Is there ANYONE in Florida who hasn't had covid yet? Good lord, of course the case rate is dropping. The virus is running out of bodies down there.
Not me - that stupid shit is all yours.Word it however you wish.
Here in California, our case rate is roughly 121,000/million people. In Florida the case rate is roughly 171,000/million people. So there's 50,000 fewer cases per 1 million people here. What about other states?
For a clown that only won by 1/2 of 1 % he sure is confident and acting like an idiot. I wonder how many cons he killed off in the last 2 years. As stated in the other thread where this article was posted, giving DeSantis credit would be the same as giving credit to the arsonist who set a full apartment building on fire because the flames are finally dying out. Continuing the analogy, not only did he help in starting the fire, he also actively worked to prevent the firemen from responding.
Deaths per million in Florida rose from #26 to #9 during the last wave. That's what he deserves credit for.
Is there ANYONE in Florida who hasn't had covid yet? Good lord, of course the case rate is dropping. The virus is running out of bodies down there.
You sound like one responsible Floridian.I haven't had COVID and I get tested once a week at a minimum.
You sound like one responsible Floridian.
You have no point other than Florida is becoming more of a red state. That in no way excuses DeSantis' actions and inactions.Note how you can’t refute my point. And yes, you live in a very red county and congressional district.
But what other state has had the waves Florida has experienced? There's a reason these pandemic events are described as waves,.. High point, low point, things constantly changing,.. It's an exercise in futility to select a single measurement from a single point in time and then try to apply that to the whole event,.. We won't truly understand this pandemic until long after it's over.
But what other state has had the waves Florida has experienced?
Except not at all.I believe New York remains the National Champion.
Except not at all.
But other than your spot on
Massive first waves, maybe a second. No third
Since we have so many senior citizens, it only makes sense that we have higher rates of infection and deaths. Is there ANYONE in Florida who hasn't had covid yet? Good lord, of course the case rate is dropping. The virus is running out of bodies down there.
I'm not trying to excuse the Governors "actions/inactions". I don't see any need to.You have no point other than Florida is becoming more of a red state. That in no way excuses DeSantis' actions and inactions.
Maine. Oregon. But what other state has had the waves Florida has experienced?
