Class of 2017

Luka Garza had a busy week that started off with 16 point performance in Maret's 69-58 win over St. Andrew's on Tuesday. Then, his team traveled to Florida to play in The City of Palms Classic over the weekend. On Friday, Garza had 27 points and 14 rebounds in a 65-51 loss to Hudson Catholic from New Jersey. Garza made 15/17 free throws in the game. On Saturday, he followed that up with a big 32 point, 13 rebound effort as Maret beat Sagemont School of Florida 75-68. On the season, Garza is averaging 23.4 points per game for Maret (6-1).

Jack Nunge continues to put up big numbers as he finished with 28 points, 7 rebounds,and 5 assists in Castle's 95-68 win over Evansville Central on Tuesday. Nunge made 6/8 from three-point range in the game. On Friday, he finished with 26 points and 12 boards as Castle beat Evansville Reitz 96-56. Finally, Nunge scored 36 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in an 86-65 win over Ensworth Saturday. For the season, Nunge is averaging 26.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game for Castle (6-0).

Connor McCaffery led Iowa City West with 17 points in their big 78-27 win over crosstown rival City High on Tuesday. On Friday, he also scored 17 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a 76-58 win over Waterloo East. For the season, McCaffery is averaging 18.0 points per game and shooting 37.0% from three-point range for Iowa City West (5-0).

Incoming walk-on Austin Ash had 17 points and 6 rebounds in Mount Vernon's 60-57 win over Dyersville Beckman Tuesday. On Friday, he finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, but saw Mount Vernon lose to West Delaware 62-46. For the season, Ash is averaging 22.2 points per game for Mount Vernon (5-1).

Class of 2018

Joe Wieskamp scored a school record 50 points to go along with 8 rebounds in Muscatine's 84-44 win over Burlington on Tuesday. Wieskamp was 16/20 from the field including 9/11 from three-point range in the game. On Friday, he was held to 21 points in a 52-46 loss to Davenport North. On the season, Wieskamp is averaging 29.0 points per game for Muscatine (3-3).

Class of 2019

Patrick McCaffery finished with 15 points and 5 assists in Iowa City West's 78-27 win over crosstown rival City High on Tuesday. Then on Friday, he led West with 19 points in a 76-58 win over Waterloo East. On the season, McCaffery is averaging 15.0 points per game and shooting 42.9% from three-point range for Iowa City West (5-0).

I think Garza can audition for the next James Bond reboot as "Jaws." Just imagine him with silver steel teeth and that smile, he will definitely scare any power forwards away from the basket. Also, he needs a quick brow trim, stat!
