In our following the future update, we take a look each week during the season at how Iowa's commits are doing on the field, including our performance of the week. Join us throughout the year as we watch their progress and get ready for the future of Hawkeye football.

Performances of the week

With a pair of big time playoff performances, Samson Evans and Tyrone Tracy Jr. share the honors this week.

First, with offensive lineman Jeff Jenkins leading the way, Samson Evans finished with 20 carries for 125 yards and 5 touchdowns as Prairie Ridge beat Crystal Lake Central 61-24 in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday. On the season, Evans now has 1,286 rushing yards for defending state champion Prairie Ridge (10-0).

Then Tyrone Tracy Jr. had another impressive all-around game with 76 yards receiving, 50 yards rushing, and four touchdowns in Decatur Central's 47-8 win over Arsenal Tech in the sectional semifinals on Friday. Through 11 games this season, Tracy has 118 carries for 1,317 rushing yards and 49 catches for 1,030 receiving yards with 27 touchdowns for Decatur Central (10-1).

Other performances

Defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum had 4 tackles in Solon's 34-2 playoff win over Decorah on Friday. This season, Linderbaum has 41 tackles, 6 TFL, and 2 sacks for undefeated Solon (10-0) who has only allowed 23 points through 10 games.

Offensive lineman Cody Ince helped Unity rack up 247 yards rushing in their 34-31 playoff win over Melrose-Mindoro Friday. On defense, Ince had 9 tackles and 1 sack in the game. This season, he has 90 tackles and 18 TFL for Unity (9-2).

Defensive tackle Noah Shannon had a big game with 9 tackles, 5 TFL, and 2 sacks in Oswego's 28-14 playoff win over Naperville North on Saturday. This year, Shannon has 46 tackles, 15 TFL, and 8 sacks for Oswego (9-1).

Cornerback D.J. Johnson had 5 tackles on Friday, but saw his senior season come to an end with North Central losing to Pike 42-21 in the playoffs. On the season, Johnson had 36 tackles, 5.5 TFL, and 2 interceptions for North Central (3-7).

Tight end Jack Plumb helped set the edge as Bay Port rushed for 327 yards in a crazy 57-51 win in quadruple overtime against Stevens Point Friday. Primarily used as a blocker, Plumb has 5 catches for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns this season for Bay Port (11-0).

Linebacker Dillon Doyle had 7 tackles and 2 sacks as Iowa City West beat Cedar Rapids Washington 49-7 on Friday. On offense, Doyle had 3 catches for 28 yards and 1 touchdown and added a 1 yard rushing touchdown as well. This season, Doyle has 55 tackles and 8 TFL on defense and 16 catches for 226 yards and 4 touchdowns on offense for West (10-0).

Tight end Anthony Torres is out for the season due to injury. His Mishawaka Penn team improved to 9-1 after beating Valparaiso 13-0 in the playoffs on Friday.

Safety Julius Brents and his Warren Central team picked up a 41-16 playoff win over Lawrence North Friday. After returning mid-season from a knee injury, Brents has 13 tackles and 1 interception this year for Warren Central (7-3).

Class of 2019 tight end commit Logan Lee had 1 catch for 11 yards on offense and really made his mark on defense with 11 tackles and 5 sacks in Orion's 40-0 playoff win over Rockford Christian on Saturday. This year, Lee has 23 catches for 393 yards and 8 touchdowns for Orion (8-2).

Class of 2019 defensive back commit Larry Tracy had 4 tackles in Decatur Central's 47-8 win over Arsenal Tech on Friday. This season, Tracy has 83 tackles, 14 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions for Decatur Central (10-1).

Terry Roberts had 4 catches for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns as Cathedral Prep beat Canisius by a score of 31-20 Friday. This year, Roberts has 28 catches for 868 yards and 12 touchdown plus 2 interceptions on defense for Cathedral Prep (10-0).

Running back Henry Geil finished his senior season with 224 carries for 1,479 yards and 16 touchdowns for Green Bay Preble (6-4).

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Ezra Miller paved the way as Ridge View racked up an impressive 2,041 rushing yards during their 6-3 season.

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Tyler Endres led the way upfront as Norwalk rushed for 1,186 yards and threw for 1,707 yards on their way to a 6-3 record.

Finally, junior college defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon had 3 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack to help Iowa Western beat Iowa Central by a score of 62-14 on Saturday. This season, Nixon has 32 tackles, 10 TFL, and 3.5 sacks for Iowa Western (8-1).
