Did Evans get downgraded by Rivals? Or was he always a 2 Star?
Just lowered to a 2-star this past weekend. Honestly saw it pop up as I was watching him dominate in his state title game on TV Saturday.

VanSumeren and Roberts moved up to 3-stars.

FWIW.

Yeah I saw those guys moved up. Was surprised how much the LB moved up. Like you said with Evans, he has been dominating.

Don't get all that caught up in the 'star' rankings but if Evans is a 2 star player, then I really have to question the person/people doing the rankings. i can't wait to see what position he ends up at Iowa, I think he could be really good at multiple positions. And I really think iowa fans will like Jeff Jenkins.

That is bizarre rating adjustment for Evans, no? It seems to defy reason.

In his career, Evans rushed for 6,386 yards, which is 7th all-time in the state of Illinois, and has 112 career rushing touchdowns, which is 3rd in state history.

Rivals undertakes a follow-up analysis of a player at a time that player is moving higher on the Illinois all-time rushing and all-time scoring lists and their conclusion is ........ this prospect was over-rated?

The Iowa coaches have made their own analysis and conclusions about Evans so the downgraded Rivals rating is not material in the long run. Nevertheless, its a head scratcher.

Anyone think the plan is to move ISM into more of the traditional "x" receiver and use Sampson as they are using ISM now with the sweeps?

Short write-up on Evans and the team's Illinois 6A state championship. Always nice to have a player the locals call "Superman" join the squad:) 121 career TDs is almost cartoonish. According to the article, he has a brother who also played for the team as a freshman.

The older brother - younger brother recruiting connection has worked for Ferentz recently
Niemann brothers
Taylor brothers
Tracy brothers
of course the Paulson brothers...its minutes but one brother is older than the other:D
I'm probably missing other brothers
god bless their mothers
ah yes, the Prater brothers
one stayed but not the other
and the brothers Rieff is another
yep, a trio of Ferentz brothers among the others

That may be a possibility...Sampson and/or Tracy.
I think they are grooming Cooper to that McCarron/Easley type receiver.
Marchese and Smith give us a couple bigger WR's
We need another burner that can stretch the field besides ISM, as I don't think Smith has that elite speed, but he has some hops. We are going to have to hope Quarells ups his game (as he has that speed) to help until we can get a couple people on campus, hopefully soon. Harrel has great speed and supposedly they had him at receiver at one point, but haven't seen nor heard a word about him.

I think I remember seeing that cooper was the fastest guy on the team.

Man, I had completely forgotten about Quarells.

Yea Lee might be a sleeper NFL caliber D end more than a TE. I remember when the staff first offered him they said it was his great all around athleticism they were intrigued by as he had not yet put up much for numbers at TE.
