So Blair,

Question on the recruiting side of things. We have been offering QB and WRs lately and I was wondering what you have heard in regards to players leaving. I would guess there is a QB leaving and possibly a couple WR(young and falconer?). Is there any way we take Waggoner?

I was under the impression KF told Waggoner we were full yet the crystal balls have gone to us so who knows on that. As for WR I think they need to over recruit that position until it is no longer a weakness. Imo if wiscy would have had stanley they would have beat OSU. Really wish that Danny kid would have gone to iowa.

Of course we would take Waggoner. Kirk was just in Des Moines to see him.

i was thinking I read something about Coach Ferentz meeting with him to let him know we were no longer able to take a commit from him because of other pressing needs. It would be nice to get a commit out of him, stoops, craddieth, Honas, Lockett and a QB.

Blair explained a few days ago in a response to one of my posts that KF went up to Dowling personally to explain the Hawks recruiting situation. Mainly to say that priorities lay at other positions than the DL. And to say that things could still change.

I've thought that Wiltfong was the most reliable of the predictors at 247, but I'm not sure how close he is to brass tax on the Waggoner recruitment. Wait and see.

That is true on KF's visit to Dowling last week. However, that's already old news by now.

KF called Waggoner back on Thursday and told him there is room, they want him, and are clearly the favorite to land him (again). Probably will be wrapped up here shortly.

Yes, I expect departures. QB definitely, WR probably.

Waggoner is a definite take now.

You are a busy man. Thank you as always Blair. Any crumbs you can feed us freeboarders on the qb offers? We sounding good to the csu or osu guy?

Spencer Petras, the Oregon State commit, sounds the most interested to me. He wants to visit Iowa, and plans to, but his team is still in the playoffs, so a weekend visit might not work until their season is over. Ken O'Keefe will be back out to California to see him tomorrow.

Much appreciated. I don't remember exactly who it was but someone said they live near this kid and he would be a really nice get for us. Close him up Ken!

Thanks for the updates, yall! Once the coaches took the pulse of the team, post-season .... they likely got a much clearer image of how the attrition on the roster would look. That's at least the vibe I'm getting from the most recent updates.
