In our following the future update, we take a look each week during the season at how Iowa's commits are doing on the field, including our performance of the week. Join us throughout the season as we watch their progress and get ready for the future of Hawkeye football.

Performance of the week

Wide receiver Devonte Young is have a great senior season and might have had his biggest game yet this past weekend with 353 all-purpose yards in North Point's 35-0 win over Northern. Young's performance included 7 catches for 162 yards and 1 touchdown, an 82 yard punt return for a touchdown, and on defense an interception that he returned 60 yards as well. Through 9 games, Young has 39 catches for 702 yards and 5 touchdowns this season.

Other notable performances

Barrington Wade led Niles North into the state quarterfinals for the first time in school history with a 35-20 victory over Eisenhower on Saturday. Wade finished the game with 25 carries for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a big 67 yard run in the first quarter to give his team an early lead. Through 11 games, Wade now has 219 carries for 1,929 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.

Emmanuel Rugamba had another big game on Friday with 5 catches for 144 yards and 1 touchdown in Naperville Central's 49-28 win over Warren in the second round of the playoffs. Through 11 games, Rugamba now has 55 catches for 872 yards and 6 touchdowns this year.

Quarterback Nathan Stanley saw his senior season come to an end after Menomonie's 17-6 loss to Chippewa Falls in the state quarterfinals on Friday. In the game, Stanley was 8/25 passing for 122 yards and threw 1 interception. He also had 7 carries for 46 yards. On the season, Stanley completed 86 of 174 pass attempts for 1,628 yards with 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for Menomonie, who finished 9-3 this year.

Defensive end Brandon Simon had 6 tackles and 1 sack in Don Bosco Prep's 34-29 win over DePaul on Friday. Don Bosco Prep is now 6-3 on the season and will face Paul VI in the first round of the playoffs this weekend.

Chauncey Golston had 5 tackles and 1 sack and Cedrick Lattimore added 1 tackle in East English Village Prep's 28-3 playoff win over Grosse Pointe South on Friday. East English Village Prep is now 9-2 on the season and will face Detroit King this weekend.

Final season stats

Running back Toren Young finished the season with 304 carries for 2,569 yards and 28 touchdowns for Monona Grove (9-2) this year.

Safety Amani Hooker finished the season with 78 tackles and 11 interceptions on defense. On offense, he had 1,042 yards passing, 478 yards rushing, and 380 yards receiving, accounting for a total of 29 touchdowns for Park Center (8-3) this year.

Running back Toks Akinribade finished the season with 226 carries for 1,424 yards and 16 touchdowns for Brownsburg (4-6) this year.

Tight end T.J. Hockenson finished the season with 85 catches for 1,228 yards and 17 touchdowns for Chariton (5-5) this year.

Quarterback Nathan Stanley completed 85 of 175 pass attempts for 1,628 yards with 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions for Menomonie (9-3) this year.

Tight end Noah Fant finished the season with 46 catches for 570 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense to go along with 20 tackles and 3.5 sacks on defense for Omaha South (3-6) this year.

Defensive back K.J. Sails finished with 24 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 4 blocked field goals for East Bay (6-4) this year.

Lance Billings finished the season with 67 catches for 721 yards and 5 touchdowns on offense for Clearview (4-6) this year.

Offensive lineman Spencer Williams led the way upfront as the Cedar Falls (6-4) offense finished the season with over 1,700 yards rushing this year.

Defensive end Austin Schulte had 9 tackles and 1 TFL in his season opener for Pella (10-0), but tore his ACL late in the game and missed the rest of the year after undergoing knee surgery in September.

Defensive end Romeo McKnight tore his ACL during pre-season practice for Crystal Lake Central (4-5) and missed all of his senior year after undergoing knee surgery in September.
