Look at the corners of the end zone. Injury waiting to happen.

That's why playing these kind of games was a thing of the past..............

Thing of the past, not so much.

"Four of college football’s 40 bowl games this year are in MLB stadiums. Most major stadiums are multi-purposed in some fashion or another, but football games in baseball parks is a weird match. It requires fitting a 120-yard-long rectangular peg into a diamond-shaped hole. It doesn’t always look natural.

And yet, it works. The four current ballpark bowls — the Miami Beach, Arizona’s Cactus, New York’s Pinstripe, and the St. Petersburg — come off fine every year, even though the St. Pete’s artificial turf looks like a scene out of a dystopian fanfic".

No such thing as a good seat in that place either.. this should not be a bowl game the big 10 is in
Can't agree more. I'm not going to stir the pot on wether New York is a good time or not, there's already enough in another thread. But your 'average' fan I think has spoken, and that fan doesn't want to go to this goofy northern climate game. Another example of participation in something that's more about the Big Ten brand than the fanbase that has to go there.

I'll be sorely disappointed if Delaney isn't there, and sitting outside for it. This is the kind of stuff he rams down our throats, he should have to own it and freeze his ass off at this largely uninteresting game.

An average team doesn't deserve a bowl game. KF doesn't deserve a bonus for an average season. I prefer the assumption that a great season is rewarded with a bowl game. An 8 win season should be minimum.
Perhaps then you or a group of our unhappy fans, should pony up his 4.5 mill contract. Then you can set the terms on what is an acceptable season, and whether or not he stays employed. Just saying, this constant bitching about KF's contract, salary etc.. is pointless and stale. Seriously, look around at what 80% of these guys get paid, and how their contracts are set up. Then, like it or not the guy has been the coach at one school for 20 years. Nothing in his contract is out of line, given the parameters of his profession.

Back to the topic: football games in baseball stadiums.
In multi-purpose stadiums, it can work. But Yankee Stadium's layout means the large majority of seats are much further away from the field than in normal football games. And the end zones are hazardous in some points because of the close proximity of seating to the playing field. As a paying fan, I wouldn't want to invest many dollars in a ticket.

I agree with this,... Too many bowl games anymore, and I suspect that Iowa will lose money on the Pinstripe Bowl....

I have never been to a bowl game the Hawks played in that I did not have fun. They could be playing the game at Fukashima and if the Hawks win I'd be good.

Once you get past 20 it gets ridiculous.

I tried to watch the Utah vs. West Virginia game earlier today. Tried. Couldn't make it out of the 1st quarter. If you're a fan of Utah or West Virginia I'm sure it's a great bowl game. I couldn't help but think, though, that most people will feel the same about Iowa vs. Boston College. I'll be watching because I'm an Iowa fan, but that's the only reason. I wouldn't expect anyone besides BC or Iowa fans to watch. Maybe some B10 West fans just because of familiarity.

I've tried to watch a number of other games, but there was only one that kept my attention until the finish: Army vs. San Diego State. The only reason I even bothered to tune into that game was because I wanted to if Rashad Penny deserved the hype he'd been getting. Yeah, he deserved it. That guy is every bit as impressive as Saquan Barkley. He might be a little faster, too.

But outside of the very few rare gems like SDSU vs. Army, the real bowls don't start until Friday night when Ohio State plays against USC.

If the corners scare you, contact must horrify you Evil.

I'm guessing they have things prepared.

And Happy New Year my brotha!!

How close is the wall in the outfield?
I can see a little bit of space but it a receiver is running full speed concentrating
on the ball & runs into it an injury could happen I think

You couldn't make it past the first quarter because West Virgina was absolutely dreadful. That lasted the whole game though.

They lost money going to the Rose Bowl. Should they have turned down that trip as well? Not talking about the results after the fact either..........

People constantly bitching about people constantly bitching is fascist and stale. You have the ability to "ignore" every member that you find to be constantly bitching. But I guess you'd rather bitch. Welcome to the club.

Yeah.....I'll pass.

I didn't. I was cleaning up Christmas and hanging up a dart board so it was on in the background.

lol. That makes a lot more sense. Yeah, even bad bowl games are good background noise for post-Christmas cleanup or anything else that's mundane but necessary. Nothing like the bad bowl games to get you to finally catch up on the stuff you've been putting off for too long. :)
