"For all of us who cover elections, we have to figure out how to talk to & listen to the Half of the Country who Rose Up & said 'We've had enough.'"

Where are you getting this stat that many other counties enjoy an 95%+ voter turnout? I'd love to see this data.

I don't disagree with you about American's lack of participation in the election cycle...we do suck at it overall.
Americans enjoy more ways and time to vote than any of the countries he could be talking about. Almost every country requires a voter ID, doesn't do mail in ballots, doesn't do drop boxes, and doesn't have weeks to vote before election day. Access to voting has NEVER been this easy. We don't need a national voting day, as others have stated we need a candidate or two worthy of the people's votes.

Here is why I voted for him:

1) The Border. Why should we be the only country letting millions of people circumvent the legal process?
1a: Why should all these people flowing in illegally get free food, lodging and healthcare on the taxpayers?

2) Inflation and Government Spending. Out of control spending and debt along with excessive money printing has devalued our currency at the same time government regulation and control has hurt our GDP.

3) Sick of the Woke crap.

4) Lack of specifics on policy. Kamala never stated specifically what she would do to fix the issues that Americans care about. When asked it was always "I was raised in a Middle Class family" or "I'm not Trump" These are not real answers.
Nailed it.

You are right maybe not many but US sucks. This is the stats from 2020. The highest US voter turnout in history. I am willing to bet the voter turnout is below 60% for this election.

"They (voters) feel like they've been told to shut up."

Check this out & watch:

When your media sources constantly criticize Democrats while downplaying or rarely addressing Republican actions, it skews public perception and limits a balanced understanding of both parties' policies and concerns. Until this is rectified, nothing else will matter.

Then don't complain when you don't like the outcome. Rs are celebrating now but they are not really interested in anything but sticking to the libs. So let's see how that turns out for them.
The outcome of what? The primary for one party with a winning shitty candidate? Or the crowning of a shitty candidate the other party decided to do without any input from party members?

I'd say it's my right to complain about whatever the fvck I want in regards to these shit heels we were given to vote for.

A lot of people are pissed off with the border and the fact that under the Biden administration, if a migrant got in, they had an 85% chance of being released into the country.

no doubt they are, and not unreasonably so.

But does that make the opposition to that something 'subhuman'? I don't think so, and perhaps getting out of the office/studio and off the twitter might make a better reporter.

Consider, for example, taking a vacation to a national park, and not to Europe.

Other countries give the day off to vote. Many other countries have 96-98% turnout.

My point being is we as a nation suck at doing things these days. Especially elections.
Since we have early voting and vote by mail, we don't need a holiday to vote.

I know this, and it's why I'm asking where these 96% participation numbers are coming from.

According to Statista, which was the first site that popped up when Googling "voter turnout for xxxx election", the following countries are as follows:

US - 65% according to foreignpolicy.com
Italy - 63.9% (2022)
France - 51.5% (2024)
UK - 60% (2024)
Sweden - 84.2% (2022)
South Korea - 77.1% (2022)
Russia - 77.4% (2024)
Mexico -
Canada -
Germany -
Venezuela - 45.7% (2018) this from some other website
South Africa - 58.6% (2024)

I apparently ran out of free searches on Statista...so this is what I'm left with. Looks like there are NO countries with anywhere near 95%+ voter turnout. The US's 65% is actually higher than 5 out of the 8 that I looked up. I have no idea if some of these other countries were Presidential elections or other elections.
