Former Bears receiver Josh Morgan has been charged with misdemeanor reckless use of a firearm after accidentally shooting himself.
According to Deadspin, Morgan was cleaning his weapon at his house when it went off, leaving him with non-life threatening injuries.
A person representing Morgan told TMZ the seven-year pro is “fine,” adding “It was a simple accident.”
Morgan played 14 games for the Bears in 2014, catching 10 passes for 70 yards and one touchdown.
He also spent time with San Francisco and Washington.
Perhaps the most memorable moment of the receiver’s NFL career came with the Redskins in 2012. After making a third-down catch with little more than a minute remaining in a game against the Rams, Morgan lost his cool and threw a ball at Rams corner Cortland Finnegan – pushing Washington out of field-goal range and possibly costing the Redskins the game.
