I read that as "for Hungary" and thought how can a Samoan compete for Hungary.

Half Samoan--Born in USA (Hawaii) competes for the USA, That wasn't your point of course,. You do realize that by Olympic rules and for other* international competitions athletes can be non-citizens of some countries if a parent was originally from that country. Last I heard about Hungary they were getting rigid about who was Hungarian. And yes, not likely a part Samoan being Hungarian..
