1984 Iowa team opened with 10 straight P5 teams hosting Iowa State in opener, then Penn State and B1G opener at Ohio State. Iowa went 1-2.
1983 opened 3-0 with wins at Iowa State, at Penn State and in B1G opener against Ohio State. IOWA went 9-3 against all P5 programs, ending season in a 14-6 ugly, cold loss at Florida in Gator Bowl.
The Hawks OL coach was part of Iowa ranked in Top 25 throughout the season, start to end.
In many ways, the 2021 Iowa Basketball season and 1983 Iowa Football seasons have one interesting similarity. Top 25 from Start to Finish.
