I wasn't being as big an azz as I could be. But here it comes. I don't like it much when people try to spin something. And that's all you've been doing. You couldn't even put the whole quote in your post!
http://www.thegazette.com/subject/sports/dale-jones-to-leave-iowa-mens-basketball-20170409
“I
f the opportunity presents itself somewhere else where they want me to come in and be an immediate guy for them to score the ball, then that’s something I’m willing to do,” Jones said after the Penn State game. “It’s not going to stop (with Senior Day), whether I come back here or go somewhere else. I’m going to ride this out until the doctor tells me I can’t play anymore.”
See, I can bold things too.
Here's what you did, Franisdaman. You linked an article, which is great, should always link sources.
But then, instead of cut and pasting the entire quote which is your sole argument as to Fran's vicious treatment of Jones, You circumcised the entire first sentence off Dale Jone's quote. You. Left. This. Off. "“
If the opportunity presents itself somewhere else where they want me to come in and be an immediate guy for them to score the ball, then that’s something I’m willing to do." Why did you do that? Why did you leave it off?
Anyone just cut and pasting a quote is going to start at the beginning and swipe the thing until the end! And people can see the entire quote in either the link you gave or the identical link that I offered on this post. And say, isn't there something different about the way the quote reads between the article and the fake story Franisdaman offered!?!?!?
Well, sure as s#!t there is something different! What's this?
However, Jones said this after the Penn State game. What's that?!?! That's not in the original article!
So you cut off half the quote, and added a qualifier, "However". However what? You presume to say Jone's quote is in stark contrast to Fran's? "Totally Opposite", as you put it? Well dang you sure did everything you could to make it seem that way! Shall we review?
1) You skipped half of Jone's quote. And that takes effort to find the exact part you wanted to present from the middle of a short paragraph. And pal, that obvious effort goes to show intent.
2) You then add your own words, "
However, Jones said this after the Penn State game.", and with that one word, "However" you interject a contrast between McCaffery's comment and Jones. A conflicting set of words MAYBE depending on how one reads into them.
And here's the kicker.
3) You actually put your own words
IN BOLD. You see, Franisdaman, I've got you with three intentional acts, any one of which shows intent to put a contrasting spin between two statements casually made in public (not a damn court of law). Now that intent is proven, the only thing in question is your motive.
THREE intentional acts, Franisdaman. You edited the original quote to emphasize your point...even removing the part of the statement that reveals that Jones knows exactly what is going on. YOU HAD to leave that off or your point is lost before it's even begun.
ADDING you own words to the article to place an emphasis on the contrast between McCaffery's words and Jones' words. (However). That's your spin, Franisdaman!
And actually putting your own words IN BOLD as if that makes them a highlight of the article. Wow.
These ARE intentional acts, Franisdaman. The only question is, why go to the trouble to defame the coach? I suppose the motive may never be known. It's certainly not the first time you've advertised the worst way of looking at McCaffery.
Fortunately, I'm not seeking to solve the whole thing. Just being an AZZ, so you can see what me being an azz is really like.
Have fun trying to explain the obvious, intentional, bulldroppings, from your opening post.
