Fran has broken the BTT slump. This will be the perfect season to get back to the sweet 16 (and hopefully more)
Shut up and enjoy the win. Fran had them in some great sets down the stretch leading to threes for Murray and Bohannon.

Look, I’m much happier with the team since early January. They’re doing the little things a bit more reliably in terms of defense, rebounding, rotations. I thoroughly enjoyed that win. And the end of the season. We have been favored in every game this tournament though, so this is expected in some ways. I want to beat a team like Purdue to feel really good, but there’s no denying the team is rolling for now.
Why can’t everybody just enjoy the win?
Idiots that constantly bitch need to be called out. That's what I was doing and I did enjoy it. He's taken a team that even optimistic fans like me thought would never be .500 in the Big or win 20 games.

You’re trying a bit too hard here. Where have I posted anything miserable about this team in the last few weeks? I just said they (facts) were favored in every game so far so we should have expected wins. I’d love to beat Purdue but truth be told I’m not expecting it … bad matchup for Iowa and that’s fine. I would expect to beat MSU though, if this makes sense?
On Jan 31, Iowa lost at Penn State 90-86 in double OT. Iowa's record after that game was 14-7, 4-6.
On Feb 6, vs Minnesota, Fran made 2 changes: (1) Jordan was back at starting Point Guard; (2) Tony Perkins was the new starting 2 guard.
The results of this change?
* Iowa has now won 11 of its last 13 and has a record of 25-9.
* Iowa is a projected 5 or 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament
* They are playing in the B1G Tournament FINAL for the first time since 2006.

I’ve been hard on this team at times, yes. I’m FAR FROM ALONE. If you can’t enjoy a win without attacking fellow Iowa fans, I can’t help you.
And deep. Keegan gets his and JBo will get some shots, but some nights it’s Perkins & Kris, sometimes it’s Connor, sometimes it’s JoeT. Today PMac came up big down the stretch. The Hawks just keep coming at you.

Correct. Enjoy the moment and the process. There is no guarantee that there won't be heartbreak in the first weekend of the NCAA, but this team plays together and plays hard. That's literally all you can ask for. All these wins they are piling up improve their chances marginally to go further in the NCAA. And we have the best player I've seen in person at Iowa in my lifetime (yes, Keegan is a better all-around player than Garza, and Garza was great).
Fran deserves whatever accolades come his way for what he's done with this team. He has them believing, which is most of the battle for a coach.
I hear you….to a point. Fran has always had his weaknesses (some real, some like “Fran Fade” more hype than substance)….but I don’t think there‘s any way to look at this team’s last 6-7 weeks and think they’re playing anything other than elite basketball. They‘re a really cohesive unit, which is not easy with such a deep bench of guys who probably all think they should be starting. Toussaint goes to the bench for Perkins and he doesn’t pout, you don’t see tweets about moving on - you see a guy fully engaged on the bench who is just waiting to go in and tear things up when he gets his minutes.
Everyone is selling out for 50-50 balls. If someone’s having a cold night shooting, someone else steps up. No team is immune from slip-ups and anyone can get beat on a given night, but this team is going to be a really tough out from this point forward. Keegan and Kris can beat you in a lot of ways. Rebraca and Connor will bang and fight on the blocks. There are a lot of guys with long arms who disrupt a lot of passing lanes. They have some defenders who are absolute dawgs on-ball. They have deep shooters. They have guys who slash and guys who have really strong mid-range games.
The things that have caused Iowa the most problems this year are really fast guards who can score and defend and teams with a lot of size (guys like Edey, Williams, Dickinson, Kofi). Iowa can do enough other things to offset that, but there aren’t a lot of teams in the country who have either category at the elite level and very, very few who have both.
This is probably Fran’s best coaching job and the way they’re playing right now, I think this is Fran’s best team and it’s possible that this is Iowa’s best in decades.
