Rhoades’ buyout is $15 million for his first year and will drop by $3 million each year. After the fifth season — in which the buyout is $3 million — it will decrease to $1.5 million before becoming $0 after the contract runs out in 2030.
The buyout is just a function of how many years remain on the contract, right? Not so ridiculous. Fran's got 2 years left?
I don't think the information from USA Today is up to date.
For example, Painter's salary was $3.75 million this past season. By the time we see 2025, Painter will make $4.25 million. Not sure what the buyout is for Painter. Pikiell's salary was more than then $3 million. It was $.3.5 million and goes to $3.75 the following year. The buyout was $15 million. Not the $30 million posted above. Woodson's average salary is $3 million per season, but he's making just below $3 million for now. Woodson will make more than $3 million per season in the second half of his contract.

It seems like some of the numbers might be in doubt, but there's a few coaches on that list with great agents looking at the buyouts.
