Fran job security

Two good looks last week against Indiana. You fail.

Yeah, that was the one game I mentioned. I'm willing to admit I'm wrong on this one but you'll have to tell me where else.

Even if I am wrong on the exact numbers, that's not the point. The point is, Iowa looks awful in the final moments of a close game far too often.

Yeah Gesell's been in a four year shooting slump lol, the rest of the guys just can't shoot.
That's funny because when they were winning fans on this board were saying how many good shooters they have. Coaches, expert analysts, game announcers and even knowledgable fans know this team is in a terrible shooting slump. Even with the slump Iowa has not been blown out by hot shooting teams, the losses have come by an average of 5 points. One or two more shots falling in a game during this slump and this board is not blowing up to the degree it is.

With Jok out of the game do you not think Illinois was going to make anybody but Uthoff beat them?

My point is that he is big enough, athletic enough and good enough that he can get the ball where he wants, when he wants and can take whatever shot he wants.......with a good possibility of getting fouled. There is nobody else that ball should have gone to.......period.

The main problem being that Uthoff doesn't want the ball with the game on the line.

One of the best seasons in a generation or two and you think the coach is in trouble?

Which season are you talking about?

This has looked like any number of other Iowa basketball season from either the Davis, Alford, or McCaffery eras.

Middle of the pack B1G finish and early tourney flameout.

What will it take for Fran to be on the hot seat? Two major collapses in the last 3 years with good talent. Losing to a double digit seed 3 straight years in the BTT. The administration and the fans have to expect more from the program. I know next year is supposed to be a step back, but Iowa should be a program that's at least on the bubble every year, and with the amount of seniors we had this year, should be contending for Big Ten titles and making sweet 16 runs.

Good talent? Lolololol
