We had a presser with Fran today to kind of wrap up the season and discuss the roster.

Fran said yes, they are looking for a post player. Didn't rule out two posts, but will depend. He said there are other players they like in the portal at other positions and could get involved, but they already have guys at those spots.

Asked Fran about the portal in general and how some coaches are just going to build their team that way every year. Fran said it's "awful" but it's the reality now. Said he has a friend who lost three kids to the portal and then just picked up five new players in the portal. Compared it to building an AAU team (and he's not far off base on that). Said it's the new reality. He still wants to build his team as much as possible in a tradition way and add pieces as needed.

He confirmed what we have been saying for a while, Wieskamp is testing the NBA waters. Said they were on a call with NBA personnel yesterday. It was Fran, Joe, and his folks on the call. Getting NBA feedback. Fran thinks he should get an invite to the NBA Combine. Based on Fran's tone, and this should be no surprise, don't expect Joe back in an Iowa uniform next season.

Asked him about Bohannon. Said nothing decided at this point about him being a super senior. Was asked about guys who may have been in line for playing time and now that would change, he also mentioned they get an extra year, like JBo would. But, again, nothing decided by JBo yet. Going to meet again soon about it, he thinks.

Fran could not discuss Riley Mulvey reclassification.

Fran said Connor is doing well after his first surgery. He's walking and doing some bike work. Other surgery coming up in about a week and then he will be on crutches. Expects him to be back and ready to go for November.

Asked about Josh Ogundele. Said he has been working hard. He mentioned again how difficult it was for him once he got to the USA last summer and thinks that as his conditioning continues to improve that we will see more explosiveness from him.

Asked about Fredrick and said his foot did not require any surgery. Said he has been shut down since the end of the season. Will likely be back next week. He's excited about getting back to work on the court.
