If you were paying attention this year, Iowa was pretty damn good during most of the B1G season on defense, and that was with Luka and JBo getting big minutes. Once CJ and Connor were playing hurt and Nunge went down, they were not the same team, even though they kept winning. If Fran gets a quality transfer to replace Luka, and that could be a big if, then YES, Iowa will be a pretty good defensive team without major injuries.

He’s that kind of player. Doesn’t have to be an offensive presence, but provide muscle in the post.
Oregon was one of Fran’s worst coaching games period.
1) he rolled out a starting lineup with 4 ailing players and got into a running match.
2) When it was obvious we were outmatched athletically but miraculously had a 4
Point lead due to stellar bench play he went with the “injured” starters for an inexcusable 10 minute (clock) 20 point swing.
3) let Duarte one of best players in country torch us in first half. The defensive plan against him was a joke.
Granted we likely still lose even with a perfect game plan but his defensive game plan was a joke
